Diane can be really good for controlling acne (depending on how severe it is, obviously), but almost all women using it report a significant reductions in facial acne lesions, as well as acne elsewhere on their body!. The amount of time it takes to make this difference depends on the individual but it's usually 1-6 months!. Many women find it gets rid of their acne completely though it doesn't work that way for everybody!.
It is also a very effective contraceptive so if you take it right there is an extremely low chance of pregnancy (less than 1%), use condoms too and you've almost got no risk!.
Some women experience side effects!. Usually these are mild and clear up within 1-3 months of being on the pill!. Some women don't get any at all!. There can be nausea, headaches, mood swings, for examples!.
Also, if using it for pregnancy prevention, you must remember to take it at the same time every day and not take other medications with it (unless cleared by your doctor), be vigilant if you have diarrhoea or vomit while taking it, these things can interfere with it working!. Read the pill information packet well and know about it!.
I'm not sure about using Diane long-term though (several years or more) I have heard it is not recommended due to the progesterone component though that could be wrong!.
People I know taking it have reported much reduced acne, not pregnant, and no noticeable side effects!.

Didn't help my acne, even though it was supposed to!. I was on it for years, I got off it after seeing a show on the downsides of it!. http://www!.cbc!.ca/consumers/market/files!.!.!.
as a side note, don't believe everything you read on their website, companies make money from the drugs they sell, so it is biased!. Just like Mirena IUC!. !. !.they don't tell you everything!.
