Question: Gyno visits!?
I was just wondering is anyone have any first time exam stories that would help calm my nerves!? I'm 17, sexually active, and I have my first exam Thursday at Planned Parenthood!. Also, what kind of birth control do you recommend!?

Have you ever been tested for STD's!? You could have HPV if you haven't gotten the vaccination and it's pretty much a for sure that you will if you're under 30 and sexually active!. Your body normally fights it out but if it's not watched that's what leads to cervical cancer!.
If you've been under a lot of stressed, started new medication, depressed, started a sport- all of that can effect your period!.
The best kind of BC I would think is the pill, as long as you're responsible and can handle taking one pill the same time once a day!. The shot has a lot more side effects and break through bleeding (depo) and the patch, well you can see it!.
Try to get a pill with little to no estrogen because you don't need that!. Levora is good because it's low on hormonal levels and everything else!.
Make sure you get tested for everything!
Just remember to breathe and concentrate on something in the room and if you tilt your bottom down and get it close to the edge as possible of the exam table it will ease things a lot more!

i started going when i was 16 to this lady doctor and she walks in the room with a bowl of jolly ranchers and is like want one i found that hilarious and then she proceeded to poke around not bad!.!.!. i switched to a male doctor and hes a sweetheart real professional!.!.!. it might be akward in the beginning but once you realize that they see a 100 twats a months your like watevs !.!.!.also if they point out an STD or yeast infection dont worry about it !.!.its wat your there for !.!.!. ive been going only cuz i had ovarian cysts which are the worst cuz they like the poke all the way to my ovaries which is quite unpleasant but the poking doesnt hurt and everyone makes you feel really comfortableWww@Answer-Health@Com
