Does getting the Depo shot for birth control make periods irregular?!

Question: Does getting the Depo shot for birth control make periods irregular!?
I got the depo shot almost a month ago for the first time !.!.!. I have had sex since then multiple times with my boyfriend, and I am 2 days late for my period!. I have not had unprotected sex though yet, because the people at the doctors told me I should wait a month after getting the shot to have unprotected sex with him!. Im thinking maybe its the Depo shot that could be making it late!?!? Not sure, but Im freakin out a little bit, because Im usually never late, and sometimes early!. Any feedback I would appreciate thanks!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got the Depo for the first time last October!. I was supposed to start my period that week, but I didn't!. Some people have light periods while there on it but I didn't have one until I stopped taking the shot in January!. Trust me, its completely normal!. And think of it as a blessing that you don't have to have a period anymore! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a friend who is on Depo (I myself am not), and she says it completely throws her cycle off!. Sometimes she's way early and sometimes she's way late!.

Try not to worry about it, that can just aggravate the situation!. If you're really upset about it and can't try to wait it out, I'd suggest calling your doctor's office and asking one of the nurses, or even trying to get an appointment about it if you can!. That may be the only way to ease your mind!.

But really, try not to worry, I'm sure you're fine!. The shot has probably just thrown your hormones out of whack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depo does make your period irregular!. And with you stressing over it doesn't make it better!. So just relax and play the waiting game!. Depo have many other side effects that you should be aware of, than a late period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stop freaking out about it, just try not to think about it (hard I know) the less stressed you are the more likely you are to get your period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
