I am 23 and have not had regular periods since I was 17!. It use to go months between them and now I have to be on birth control to get them!. My doctors are assuming it's PCOS!. I have gained a lot of weight since high school and my doctor says the only way to fix my period is to lose weight but I try and it's almost impossible!. When I tell them I exercise and change my diet they don't really seem to believe me!. Should I go see an endocrinologist!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
i have pcos as well and the best thing i did was go to and endocrinologist!. they will run a bunch of test for your hormones, your sugar, and just everything!. I am on yasmin birthcontrol and i love it, and metformin for blood surgar and pcos!. there are so many things that the endocrinologist will be able to help you out with!. please make an appointment asap!. the weight, the ovary cyst if you have them, the sugar, hormones, hair growth, all pcos symptoms if you have them!. I know it sucks but it can get better!. best of luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely yes!

PCOS makes it incredibly hard to lose weight!. You will have to work extra hard at exercising and watching what you eat while being monitored by doctors!. If your doctor thinks that all you need to do is lose weight to be fixed, it might be time for a new doctor who can help you work out a fitness/food plan!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are not comfortable with the help your getting from your Dr, yes see a different one!. Weight gain and how you carry weight is a factor!. For more information check out these websites, and possibly find a new Dr!.
