When I went on the pill, the doctor told me to take it the first day of my period!. However, I think different doctors give different advice on this, with some saying you should start the first Sunday after your period!.

The days of the week printed on your pill pack are only there as an aid to your memory so you can instantly see if you have taken your contraceptives that day!.

I think you'll be fine if you choose to use either method, just make sure you use condoms as well for the first week you are on the pill to make doubly sure you are covered!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I first started my pill, I did Sunday start and all was fine and dandy!. I didn't get my second pack until a couple of months later because insurance things were being worked out!. Basically, I had to "start" the pill again!. I simply started taking it, about a week BEFORE my period and nothing drastic happened!. I skipped my period that month and got it when it was due the next month!. Some research has shown that the only difference is that women who "quick start" their pill (take it the day the receive the prescription) seem to use it more effectively (same time and everyday)!.

My conclusion is that it's whatever you are more comfortable with!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I went on I started on Sunday, just because that is the easiest day to remember [because the packets start on 'sunday']

I'm a reeallly forgetful person so starting on that day helped me!. Other days get confusing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you start taking it the sunday after you get your periodWww@Answer-Health@Com
