It's a thin covering of skin "down there"!. Most people believe it's a physical way to tell whether a girl is a virgin or not but it can be broken by playing sports, horse back riding or using tampons!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The hymen (also called maidenhead) is a fold of mucous membrane which surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening!. Its name comes from the ancient Greek for "hymenaeus," which means "vaginal-flap!." (you're probably thinking well duh!!) It was also the name for the Greek god of marriage, later also the Greek god of membranes; "Hymenaios!." A slang term is "cherry", as in "popping one's cherry" (i think we all know what that means) It forms part of the vulva, or external genitalia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the hymen is a layer of tissue that is part of your vulva!. it is actually OUTSIDE the vagina!. a lot of people call it a "Cherry" as in "popping a cherry" (losing your virginity)!.
some girls don't even have a hymen, most do though!.
the hymen can be broken or stretched by doing strenuous activities like horseback riding or even by using tampons!. most of the time it is broken during sex and there may be a little bleeding and there may not!. it may hurt and it may not!. it all depends on the girl!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

The Hymen is the thin fold of membrane surrounding the vaginal opening!. The hymen has a central perforation that is usually stretched or torn during your first sexual intercourse!. Once torn it becomes an irregular ring of tissue around the vaginal opening!. You are not stupid and I didn't really know until I was getting married and reading a book to help me prepare!. I was a virgin until I was married!. and no I am not all that old I was born in the 1980s!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The hymen (also called maidenhead) is a fold of mucous membrane which surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening
It doesn't cover the whole opening, just a slight bit!.
Once you have intercourse, the thin layer of skin will stretch or break and therefor "pop your cherry" !.!. break your hymen!.

Some girls are born without hymens or some break them while horseback riding or sports!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are not stupid!. Hymen is a layer/film of cells located just barely inside your vagina!. It used to be said it would break only during sex and the female would bleed a bit!. This is how the man/family would know if the female was a virgin or not!. Now we have the tampon - so that mind set is defunctWww@Answer-Health@Com
