Congrats! The average is 7 days!. Just keep in mid though, since you are just starting out, you period will never come on the day it is supposed until you have had your period for over 3 years!. So sometimes it will be too early, others too late, and some will skip!. Make sure you tell your mom! Dont use tampons yet!. Wait until you have had like 5 periods so you are more experienced!. They last on the average from 3-7 days, with the second day being the heaviest bleeding!. From then on, they taper off until it finally stops!. Be aware, however, that your periods will be quite irregular the first year or two, so don't panic if you get two a month, or skip a month or two!. most people's are somewhere betweeen 3 and 8 days!. the adverage is 5; but everyone's different and since you just started it might last only a day or two and be very light!. good luck!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
