How long after sex do symptoms for the UTI show!?
And what's the best way to prevent it!? I don't have sex often and I urinate before/after sex, but I've gotten it twice in the past 6 months!. I'm really worried about getting another one since it's so agonizing!.
I just started my period today but also started feeling extremely uncomfortable!. Could it be possible that I'm just mixing up my symptoms!?
I'm not really sure if I have one right now, but if symptoms continue to appear, I'm going to the doctors ASAP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sex is not the only thing that causes UTIs!. Sure, sexually active women are at a higher risk for them, but even little kids can get UTIs, often from not cleaning down there well enough or wiping improperly (after you pee, if you wipe from back to front, this drags bacteria from your anus/vagina towards your urethra, which is what causes UTIs in the first place - you should always try to wipe from front to back to avoid them!)
Usually, I notice when I'm getting one that it's uncomfortable and almost painful when my boyfriend touches down there, and within a day I have burning when I pee, which just gets worse until I get on some antibiotics!.
Yes, it is possible that you're mixing up your symptoms!. But it is also very possible you have a mild UTI beginning!.!.!.drink tons of cranberry juice and water in the mean time!. If it gets worse, definitely go to the doctor before it gets more painful!. I assume they can still do a urine test if you have your period, although immediate test results just read the levels of pus and blood in the urine and your period might throw this off!. Just let them know if you're still on your period when you go in, and see what they say!.
