Is it time to break up with my primary care doctor?!

Question: Is it time to break up with my primary care doctor!?
I had to get a new doc 2 years ago because of an insurance change!. He was very highly recommended but here's the problem: It seems that he wants to do too many follow up visits (I've already seen him twice this year and have another appt in July) and every time I go I get a lecture about my weight!. I'm 5'7" and I weigh 200 lbs (I

I really think you should!.

I just did a paper on this for one of my classes!. Unfortunately, alot of medicine is based on statistics!. Statistically, a person of your height and weight is "overweight!." However, your bone structure may be more dense than what is statistically common!. Not only that, but if your doc is basing the rest of your healthcare on a statistical analysis of "overweight" people, he may, in fact, be overlooking other conditions!. Ie!. If you were to go in complaining of being tired, your doc may automatically assume it is related to to your weight and not to some other underlying condition (thyroid probs, etc!.) Some docs rely on statistics and will consistently choose them over listening to their patients!.!.!.!.

On top of all that, its inexcusable for a doctor to be so busy that he mistakes you for someone else!. Absolutely unacceptable!. I really think you should change your doc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Who cares if he's highly recommended!? You know you're decently healthy, and you go to him and come back feeling like utter crap! Of course you should look for a new doctor -- especially considering this one can't even tell the difference between you and your sister!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is very important to like your doctor!. Yes, find someone else!. That doesn't mean your next doctor isn't going to be concerned about your weight but the next doctor may consider all the factors and approach you in a way you can relate instead of feel worthless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it is time if you are not comfortable with your Dr change to someone who you are comfortable with!. Yes he could miss something if he focuses on your weight and blames problems on that then he could be overlooking an actual problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would look for a new doctor!. It isn't just about treatment!. Bedside manner is a big part of the package!.!.!. and he is clearly lacking in that area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Probably not a bad idea to find a doctor with a little more empathy!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definatly, doctors should make you feel good and relieved not horrible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OOO YEAH! This doctor is just a jerk, who is obviously not taking his time to get to know his patients!. Right now, his mistakes are just genral, but I'd hate for him to give you medication because he couldn't remember who you were!. Leave this doctor for someone else!. There are people who are healthy and heavey, it happens!.!.!. Find yourself someone, who more then anything, can make you feel comfortable!.

Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
