Answers:
First - it's very important that you see a gyno since you are not a virgin!. Pap smears are very important once you are sexually active!. They also are not a bad idea since you've started your period!. Like others have said, the pap will help find out if you have the changes on your cervix leading to cancer, which can be caused by the HPV virus!.

** If you go every year, cervical cancer is easy to find and deal with!. The longer you wait, the harder treatment will be if you have problems!. It's so much better to be safe than sorry!.

I could judge or tell you that you shouldn't be doing what you're doing, but I'm sure that's not going to help answer your question right now!. :) Please, please be careful!. Not just on a pregnancy level, but on a health level!. Even trustworthy people you've been with for years may have bugs that even they don't know about!. Many people have been hurt in situations like that!. The only way of lowering your chances of getting diseases is to lower your number of sexual partners!.

That said -- no, the gyno isn't the most fun thing in the world!. They do feel around down there and it's not always comfortable, but just try to think about something else to relax!. Many times the doctor will try to have a conversation about something other than what they're doing just to take your mind off the procedures!. It's super important to go through whatever tests they need you to take!. It normally doesn't take too long!.

****SUPER IMPORTANT**** Tell your gyno you had sex!. Please do!. This is an important part of your health history!. Yes, they will probably tell you not to do so, but take their words and advice to heart!. Anyway, they are legally not allowed to tell your mother -- if they do without your permission, that's a serious breach of confidentiality, depending on the state!. Only thing they can talk about is abuse, and even then, they have to go to authorities, not your parents!.

If you have the option, try to see a midwife instead of a gynocologist!. They are high-level nurses, and typically have the time to chat a bit more, and I have had some very compassionate midwives!. Typically they deal with only pregnant women but will sometimes take any female patient for general care!. I've never been pregnant, but I would always choose a midwife over a gyno, personal opinion!. Remember, a good doctor or nurse will answer your qustions, offer info or assistance, and make you feel welcomed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know about your doctor's privacy policies, but most doctors do have a patient confidentiality practice!. However, since you're a minor, I'm not sure how far that would go!. It's a good idea for you to begin seeing a gynecologist now though, since you've started your period, and especially if you are sexually active!.

Pap smears are very important - they check to see if you have changes in the cells in your cervix, which could lead to cervical cancer!. Basically, she'll have you lay back and she will put a metal instrument in your vagina to open it a bit, and she will swab in there with a few Q-Tip like things!. She will also put on gloves and feel with her fingers inside to check for odd bumps or anything else that could be funky!.

I wouldn't worry too much about the appointment - it's to make sure you're healthy!. I would suggest though that you be honest with your mother!. She might be disappointed with you about you losing your virginity, but she'll be relieved that you're being open and honest with her and she'll be able to trust you more!.

Good luck with everything and I hope all's well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seeing a gynecologist is an extremely important thing especially if your family has a history of cancer, cysts, etc!. It's your first step into woman hood and this first visit certainly won't be your last!. First they will ask you questions about your periods, weight, and basically how you are feeling!. Then they will do a examination where you lie on a table, and have to spread your legs they will examine you inside to make sure there are no cysts, or unusual things, they will also swab the inside to send the cells to labs to make sure there is nothing wrong with your cells!. It's a perfectly normal procedure and is necessary from now on, even when you older and you don't have periods anymore it's still important for you to get checked out!. No, they don't have to tell your mother whether or not your a virgin!. It's personal information and it's not meant to deter you from ever coming back!. They don't want to start a family feud!. Try to relax and know that you are doing the best thing for your body!. I'm 28 and have been getting them since I was 17 believe me I know how scary it can be and still get uncomfortable but I have a good nurse and doc that tries to talk to me and keep me from tensing up!. Oh one last thing they will check your breasts to determine whether or not you have any abnormal lumps!. Try to relax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should definitely go to the gyno especially if you are already having sex!. They will not tell your mom you are not a virgin, but they will ask you and your mom doesn't not have to be in the room if you don't want her to be!. Also, you should get a pap smear if your are having sex it is the safest, best, and only way for you to find out if everything is "okay" in your cervix!. And it doesn't hurt at all, they use lots of KY Jelly!. And you should probably talk to your gyno about the HPV vaccine, since you are already sexually active it is important for you to protect yourself as much as possible!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you will need to get a PAP smear since you are now sexually active!. If it would help tell your mom you would prefer a female doctor if that would make you more comfortable!. You can tell your mom that you prefer to go in the exam room by yourself!. The doctor will not tell what you say to your mother since it is confidential!. However, it is extremely imporant that you are completely open and honest with the doctor that way they can be sure to perform a complete exam (PAP, test for STD's, etc)!. Just try to relax during the exam because it really does last only a few seconds and the more tense you are the harder it will be for the doctor to exam you and the more discomfort you will feel!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are sexually active you should get a pap smear and get tested for stds!. Better safe than sorry!.

As far as what to expect, well it's not the most pleasant thing but the Dr!. is a professional and most likely will try to make you as comfortable as possible!. The Dr!. is going to ask you questions and examine you and do a pap smear!. If you are unsure you may want to ask for a female Dr, it may make you a little more comfortable with the whole exam!.

There is Dr/patient confidentiality so the Dr!. really can't tell your parent that you aren't a virgin!. But you may want to consider birth control if you are sexually active!. An unplanned pregnancy is a lot harder to hide from parents than being sexually active!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, it's very important to go to the gyno, as cervical cancer is becoming more & more common amongst young females!. Secondly, a pap smear is most likely definite, as that's the procedure they usually use to check for the cancerous cells!.

The gyno will not have the authority to tell your mother that you've been sexually active, but be sure to talk to the doctor and make them aware that you don't want her to know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are going to the dr!. for the first time, I believe the parents have authority over the patients treatment decisions, however, you cannot be forced to do anything you are not consenting to yourself, even if mom wants you too!. Yes they will give you a pap smear if you get checked, this is basic and checks for cell productivity and other possible issues!. Try not to let it worry you, this is a normal procedure and it is done in less than 5 min!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your mother doesn't have to go in the exam room with you, most of the time mothers don't want to go any way!Since our not a virgin anymore they should perform a pap!. They do insert a metal device into the vagina to open the cervix allowing them to exam the pelvics, ovaries etc!. This sometimes is very uncomfortable the first few times!. Get used to visiting your gyn yearly since you are sexually active!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it's important for women to visit the gyno for check ups!. It keeps you informed on your body!. I don't think you have to tell your mom that you're no longer a V because the doctors can't tell even if you're having sex or not, BUT if you want to, tell her!. You just don't neccesarily have to tell her!. I've been to the gyno once last year for the first time, and it wasn't as bad as people say it is, and i'm a virgin!. you should be okay!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Since you are sexually active then a gyno trip is needed!. Don't tense up!. It is not a big deal!. Part of life!.

Pap is probably in the agenda!. You need to have one once a year as long as you are sexually active with multiple partners, you smoke, or you have had abnormal ones in the past!.

Small pinch inside, breast exam with Dr's hands, usually finger(s) inside rectum and vagina to check for any bloating or abnormal things in the uterus!. Usually all over in less than 5 minutes!. You can ask your mom to wait outside and just have a nurse in the room with you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When Do Women Need Pelvic Exams!?
Teenage girls should see an OB/GYN between the ages of 13 to 15!. While pelvic exams are rarely required during this first visit, this visit helps to establish a relationship with the doctor of your choice and to go over your medical and sexual history (even if you have not had sexual intercourse!.) This is a good time to ask questions about sexually transmitted diseases and contraceptives!.- Hope this is useful!. Also the doctors can't tell your parents anything without your consent, although since your mam is taking you to the gyno she probably suspects that your growing up and are experimenting, thats why shes being a responsible parent and making the first step in getting you contraceptive controls!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There really isn't a reason to be self consious!. They've seen it all!.!.!.
There really isn't a way for them to tell whether or not you're a virgin unless they ask you!. But whatever you tell your doctor is confidential unless you say otherwise!. If you tell the doctor you're not a virgin they may probably want to take a pap smear but it depends!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They'll help you feel comfortable, especialy if it's your first time they'll explain everything to you before it happens!.
No, he/she will not tell your parents that you're not a virgin!. It's protocal that they ask your parents to leave the room when they ask you if you're sexually active!.
A PAP smear is a GREAT idea and doesn't hurt at all!. A little scrape on the inside of your vaginal wall will save you from many future problems!.
Get them done as frequently as the doctor recommends!.
Cheers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They will do a pap smear for sure but don't worry it'll be fine!. Just relax and it'll be better!. It doesn't hurt, it's just discomfort and it may hurt just a little when they do the scrape with a cotton swab!. They won't know if you are a virgin or not for sure because many girls have broken hymens even before having sex, even if they did it wouldn't be right for them to tell your mom, you still have confidentiality at 14!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What happens with your doctor and you stays between you two!. They can not tell your parents anything that you don't want them to tell!. You don't need a pap smear!. They usually say once you turn 18 then you need to start!. What they do is insert this metal object that opens you up and swap inside your vagina!. Then they send it off to be tested and to make sure you are healthy and no diseases!. Your mom doesn't have to be in there unless you want her too!. My kids usually boot me out or I just tell them to go ahead and if they need me they can call me out of the waiting room!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be scared, they will understand this is your first visit!. It's very important for women to get annual exams along with a pap smear that can detect cervical cancer!. Patient confidentially is a law and I don't believe they can disclose information, but then again you are a minor!. Discuss it with the doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A pap smear is part of the exam!. No big deal, really!.

Try not to worry!. The doctor and his assistant will have had experience with young patients!. They'll probably be really, really nice to you!. The pelvic exam only takes a couple minutes!.

They'll ask if you're sexually active!. Be honest--this is about your health, after all!. They shouldn't tell your mom!. Most doctors who work with adolescents respect their right to privacy!. You could ask them to keep it confidential, just to make sure!.

Well this is not a comfortable situation for your age or any age,No women like to go to a GYN!.The Dr can tell wether or not you are a Virgin and I am not sure wether they will say something to her or not,But if she is not in the room while you are being examined you can ask them not to tell your Mother!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If I remember correctly, they will ask your parent to step outside for a minute!. During this time the Dr will ask you questions on whether you are sexually active or not!. When they do ask you this, YOU as the patient, and because of confidentiality issues, have the right to ask the gyn!. to not share any of this information with your parent!. And yes, if you are sexually active already, it's always better to get an annual exam!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Your mom will not be able to tell anything!. Your doctor will know that your hymen has been "entered" but that could be done with tampons ect!.!.!.
your first and all gyno visits suck but that is his job be conformable and it makes it easier to handle and dont return to the same doctor if you are not conformable with him !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you're under age 18 i think that they have the right to release your medical information to your parent/guardian!. if you're 14 and already having sex, your mom should know anyways!. just relax, and remember that there are millions of women who go to the gynecologist each year, and they're still walking around perfectly fine! it's not as bad as you think!.!.!.granted i've never been but hey, i think you'll be okay! :0)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think they have to tell your mother you're not a virgin!. It could depend on what state you live in!.

Pap smear's aren't fun, but your doctor has a testing thing (I don't know what that tool is called) that's made for smaller/younger patients!. Just take deep breathes and look at the ceiling trying not to think about this!. If you get this done now you don't have to go back for a while!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have started having sex then getting a papsmear test is a good thing to have, and continue getting every 2 years, it picks up on changes there and diseases etc so its a good thing to get and the doc cant tell your mum anything, doctor patient confidentiality!. Its scary at first but one of the things u have to get used to as a woman!Www@Answer-Health@Com
