Question: Is it safe to completely rely on the pill!?
Recently while trying to have sex for our first time, my girlfriend and I had some issues with the condoms!.!.!.
She is on the pill right now, but we were wondering how safe it would be to rely ONLY on the pill!?

Well, when used right (taken at the same time every day) the birth control is 98% to 99% effective!. It makes it even safer with a condom though!. Everyone I know who is on birth control and is sexually active, uses a condom too!. You can go without one, but it is very common for people not to know how to properly put on a condom and many people who are not new to sex, don't know how to properly put on a condom (I learned this for an AIDS booth I was helping run)!. Look around on the internet to find a place that will tell you how to properly use one!. If it still doesn't work, then the choice is up to you and your girlfriend!. It has always worked for me!. as long as you take it everyday and never forget you should never have a problem!. But, I have seen several people getting pregnant on the pill!. They would probably be unlikely to admit it but they probably missed a pill!. Also, its important to take it at the same time everyday!. Many people rely solely on the pill!. I've worked in gynecology for several years and I have seen it happen but just be responsible and try to make sure she's taking it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it really depends what pill she's on!. there are cases where women on the pill get pregnant anyway!. it happened to my neighbor and her daughter!. for the most part, it's pretty safe, especially if she follows the directions on taking it!.

Birth control is very effective but it is not error proof!. You should always use a condom as a backup!. If you ahve been having problems because of allergies, there are alternatives to latex!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
