Yes, I used to have this happen frequently when I was a teenager!. Some months I would be on time but then go for 2 or 3 or 6 months without having a period!.

While I would say that it is not normal, it is very common!. My mom took me to a gynecologist who ran blood tests and it turned out that my hormones were off so she gave me a shot to balance them out and I was fine for a few months!. I got the shot 3 times (it was realllly painful) over the next few years and when I went back the 4th time I told her no way and she put me on the pill to regulate my hormones!. Have been on it ever since and I can practically set my watch to my period I'm so regular now!.

There are other reasons for missing your period though so I would suggest going to your doctor so he/she can run some tests to figure out what the problem is!.

Best of luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went for a period of time without having any kind of regular period!. There was no real good explanation for it, and for me it occurred between having my first and second children!. In fact, I had gone for so many months without having a period that I had no idea that I was pregnant for three months with my second baby!. I only purchased a pregnancy test after talking to coworkers about not having a period at all for like 10 months and they posed the thought of how would you know if you got pregnant if you didnt have a period to miss!. I was stunned when it came out positive because I was under the impression that you need to have periods to get pregnant!.!.!. but I was mistaken!

After talking to the doc, I was told that a lot of women will have a phase for whatever benign reason from stress to coming off birth control to post-nursing to hormone issues or weight loss or gain that can cause it!. It's not a bad idea to talk to your gyno about it, but chances are it's a phase that will take care of itself with time!. Oh, and I would also take another pregnancy test in a month just to confirm the non-pregnant results from the first test you took!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you on any type of birth control!? I have ALWAYS experiences irregular periods (since about age 15 or 16) and yes, at times I would miss a period for three months at a time!. I even went one time without a period for FIVE months!. I thought something was seriously wrong with me but my mom was the same way (maybe it's hereditary!?)!. The thing that completely changed my periods was starting birth control!.!.!.I am always regular now, down to the exact DAY, and it's so much better than not knowing when my period will decide to show up! Other than birth control, a healthy diet (well balanced with lots of water) and reducing the stress in your life can HELP with irregular periods, but if you're like me, I was still irregular no matter what I did or didn't do!.

Hope this helped! I recommend birth control, if you haven't already tried it!. Best of luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Irregular periods can usually be corrected with birth control pills, patches, shots, etc!.

It's not 'normal' to go without it, but it happens to lots and lots of girls and women!.

You can go to your family doctor or a health dept!. and let them know it's irregular and they can put you on a birth control that is right for you, plus then you can worry less about the pregnancy issue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went two months without a period, but that's because I was going off of hormonal birth control!. If you're not on the pill, and have unprotected sex, there is still a chance of pregnancy- even with proper use of a condom!. I'd call your doctor and make an appointment just to make sure!. If you don't want kids right now, you should look into getting an IUD (paragard) or some other form of reversible birth control!. Personally, i didn't like hormones, so I switched to the copper IUD and love it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've missed mine for 6 months!. Its due to extreme stress, ordeceased levels of estrogen!. If don't get it by next month go to ur ginocologist and he/she should give u some Hormone increasers or Birth control to regulate ur period!.

The best advice is for you to make an appointment to see your
gynecologist!. He or she will be able to examine you and figure out exactly what is going on with your reproductive system and treat you according to whatever diagnosis is rendered!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, I've had this problem in the past!. Go get a blood test and have your thyroid function tested!. You may have an underactive thyroid!. That's what my problem was!. If so, you'll be put on medication!. it's no big deal!. Good luck and have that checked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
