These days, getting Toxic Shock Syndrome is very rare!. Still, the bacteria responsible for causing this serious infection is thought to be associated with super absorbent tampons!. Experts say if you're bleeding heavily, it's best to use normal absorbent tampons and to change them often!. It's advised that you change your tampons/pads every 3 to 4 hours even if you're not menstruating that much!.

The following sites can give you more information on tampons and TSS, among many other things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tampons are so helpful!!! like say you want to go to the beach, you can't wear a pad in the ocean!.!.!.!.!.so i say try tampons!. they are fairly dangerous but only if you leave them in for more than 8 hours!. i usually take them out after 5 hours just in case!. 13 is NOT too young!. i got my period at 11, yeah i know i was young it was horrible!. but if i did not have the tampons, i do not know what i would have done!. try tampons and see if you like them!. i will never go back to just pads!.

also i always wear a pad also!. you don't want any episodes where you bleed through your pants!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i wouldn't leave one in more than 4 hours as a rule, but i've left one in as long as 7 hours though i would not recommend it!. changing one regularily is best, wether you need it or not!. don't use a tampon for 'heavy flow' if you don't need it!. when starting out it is best i believe to use a tampon with a plastic applicator for less resistance!. try different brands until you find one your comfortable with!. i personally think 13 is not too young, it really depends on your specific body type and degree of development!. it really is best to talk to your mom, sister, aunt or someone you trust (female) who would look out for your health and best interest!. i don,t know anything about toxic shock other than that it was a specific and seemingly one in a gazillion incident!. in other words pretty rare!. if your worried about it i'm sure theres published info on it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

TSS is very rare, so the chances aren't that high!. The tampon has to be in you for more than 8 hours before it becomes a risk!. You can wear pads as long as you want, it's a personal preferenence!. There is no such thing as too young for tampons!. As long as you have your period, you're not too young!. Don't worry about using them, just keep track of how long it's been since you last changed it!. Good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tampons do make your cramps hurt more, but sometimes it's worth it!. Since you still go to school, they are more comfortable because you don't feel "wet"!. 13 isn't too young, I'm 14 and I'm using them!. Make sure you take them out anywhere from 2 to 3 hours after insertion, or as soon as you can!. If you do this, you are most likely not gonna get TSS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tss is really rare, but only keep them in for about 4-6 hours!.!. you can use pads if your uncomfortable with tampons, or you can wear both if its your first time and you wanna see how they work!. and 13's fine to wear tampons, :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can leave them in for up to 8 hours, but you should NEVER leave them in longer than that!.

No, you're not too young!. Just maybe consider a teen sized one instead of regular!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Recommended not to leave in longer than 4 hours at a time after that it can become a bigger risk!. Also I suggest sleeping in a pad rather than tamponWww@Answer-Health@Com

I won't lie to you, they aren't just dangerous- they also can make cramps alot worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You shouldn't keep a tampon in longer than 8 hours!. Here is a good site!.!.!.!.
