Try to convince your doctor to order a mammogram for you!. If the doctor says you NEED one because they are suspicious of something, your insurance has to cover it!. I know this because I had one when I was 13 and they didnt want to cover it unless the doctor thought there was a medical need for it (which there was) in which case the insurance has to cover it!. The reason they dont is because it is "preventative" and routine rather than necessary!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most health places wont even do a mamogram on a women until they are 40 unless they have cancer in the family, just because you can do self brest exams and when you go for your annual they do that too and if they find any abnormality they will tell you so that is porbably why they wont cover it!. but if your insurance wont cover it go to a local womens health facility and tell them and if they are anything like the one around where i live they will work with you to get it cheapWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, but I can't blame them!. If you're in your early thirties, have no symptoms, and nothing that makes you high risk, why should they pay for one!? If you're that worried, pay for it yourself!.

I got my first when I was 36 after my mother had a bout with breast cancer!. Now I'm 39 and my doctor wants me to have one every year, but I think every other year is just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
