To my knowledge, there is no way to reduce the size of your breasts other than surgically!. Unless your breasts reduce in size naturally when you lose weight, which doesn't happen for a lot of us, surgery is your only option!.

However, since you were a 36b originally, I'd seriously urge you to try losing weight first, before consulting with a plastic surgeon!.

The reason for this is simple: Breast Reduction Surgery is considered Elective Plastic Surgery unless it's done for medically necessary reasons; it's hard to get insurance companies to approve it for medical reasons unless you have a documented history of back and/or neck problems!.

Another reason insurance companies may approve the surgery is when a woman has breasts of two significantly different sizes -- one C-cup and one DD-cup -- in which case it's considered Corrective Plastic Surgery!. However, they may only offer to pay for reducing the larger breast to match the size of the smaller one!. Patients are usually unhappy with the outcome of these surgeries, since one breast will be reduced/lifted and one won't, leaving the patient with an uneven appearance ~ exactly what the surgery was supposed to correct to begin with!.

I had Breast Reduction Surgery in 1999 for medical reasons!. I have a documented history of neck and back problems; everytime I'd sneeze, my cervical/thoraxic vertebra would dislocate (shift slightly), causing muscle spasms so severe that I'd be unable to lift my arms or turn my head!.

At the time, I was 5'-6" tall, weighed 140-lbs, and was between a 38 and 40-DDD!. Ever since I was 13-yrs old, I looked extremely top-heavy, and it had only gotten worse the older I got!. By the time I was in my 30's, I had what are called "pendulous" breasts ~ they hung and swung like big pendulums!. The areolas were at least 3" in length and oval, and the nipples pointed at the floor; I had permanent open sores beneath both breasts from the constant chafing of my breasts rubbing against my chest below!.

The insurance company mandated that the surgeon had to remove at least 3/4 of a pound from each breast for the surgery to be covered by insurance; he actually removed almost 3-lbs of tissue from both breasts combined!. I ended up with a solid B-cup after the surgery!.

Aesthetically (appearance-wise), I don't like the outcome of my surgery; the surgeon was sloppy, and did a terrible job on my incisions!. I have areas where the scars are very thick and bulky because the incisions puckered; in other areas there's very little tissue underneath the scar, leaving those areas very sore to touch, nothing but raw nerve endings under the scar!. The surgeon was supposed to liposuction under my armpits, which he failed to do; I still have breast/fatty tissue under my armpits, which is basically connected to nothing!. I no longer wear bras, simply because they are so uncomfortable on my scars!.

I made a complete changeover to camisoles after my surgery, and that's all I wear now ~ camisoles and tank tops under my shirts!. I'm pleased to have the weight gone; I look much more proportionate now with a B-cup!. However, I don't recommend the surgery unless there's absolutely no other recourse!.

If you can lose weight and reduce your breasts that way, do it!. It's much simpler and easier on the body!.

Good luck!. I wish you the best!.
