Don't worry too much at this point!. My sister didn't get her first period until after she graduated high school (yeah, that was weird, I was 12 when I started, and she was 16 and still hadn't)!. But anyways, girls periods usually range from starting at about age 10 to age 17!. And really, in the long run, what's another year!? I'm assuming your doctor knows that you only have one kidney!. And to have puberty is different for everyone, sort of like personalities!. You never know what may eventually happen!. You sound like you're in a perfectly normal situation, just be patient!. If you are seriously worried, however, definately talk to a doctor!. But also, if your stomach has been hurting, like cramping, you could be very close to starting!. Going through puberty is exciting, but don't hope to grow up too fast!. I'm sure your parents would agree with me on that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are very petite, and that probably has a lot to do with it!. Women get their periods when their body has matured to a point where they can maintain a pregnancy!. If you're underweight or just really small, the hormones that regulate when you start your period will not be activated until you are of a sufficient weight to carry a child safely!. That's just the bodies way of insuring a pregnancy will go to term!.
Our bodies don't care if we're 10 or 18 when it tells us to have a period and that it's ready to carry a baby to term!.
The fact that you have medical problems will probably play a big role in when you get your period!. Period happen because the body is ready and the hormones are available to sustain a baby!. If you have multiple medical problems, your body will shut off your period until such time that you're strong and healthy enough to get pregnant!.
You should talk to your doctor!. He or she will make sure that everything else that you can do to help, is occurring!. They may be able to put you on vitamins or hormones to stimulate production of your own hormones!. It's really important for you to deal with this now to ensure that when you reach adulthood and want to get pregnant, that you're creating the best body to allow that to happen!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nothing's wrong with you - like the others have said, if you don't get it by the time you're 17 years old, go to the doctor!.

You're not underweight, are you!?
That might be a reason why!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
