Women who have had a VBAC... please read?!

Question: Women who have had a VBAC!.!.!. please read!?
I had a really wonderful pregnancy last year!. But, when I was talked into being induced because I was a little past my due date and things went wrong and ended up with a c-section, it was really hard to get over the experience!. Granted of course my 7-month old baby girl is healthy and wonderful, it was a remarkably sad experience for me!. This time I want a midwife, maybe a doula, and I want a vaginal delivery!. I have heard that this is difficult!. I have heard that there's a chance the uterus can rupture and possibly lead to death!. After my own experience and watching the film "The Business of Being Born," I refuse to go in for a scheduled c-section next time!. I want to try to give birth vaginally and naturally!. Can you tell me your thoughts and own experiences!? Thank you!. (My husband and I are going to be trying to conceive next month!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I am a midwifery student, I have been a nurse for 20 years, and I had a VBAC!. My first birth was a C-section for breech, and I had a VBAC with my other two!.

You should see a certified nurse midwife (CNM), not just a lay midwife, and you should plan on delivering in a hospital just in case there are any complications, but you should absolutely try for a VBAC!. You can in the meantime educate yourself on the risks of VBAC by searching the web!. As long as you know your risks and benefits, and you are informed about your choice, then there is no reason that you should not try for a vaginal birth!.

There are some hospitals that do not allow women to attempt VBAC due to insurance/malpractice reasons, so make sure that the midwife that you see delivers in a hospital that allows VBACs!.

It was a wonderful experience to have a vaginal delivery both times, and I highly encourage natural childbirth--it is a very empowering experience!

You can go to www!.acnm!.org and find a CNM in your area!.

i had a friend who had a c-section with her first child and was told by the doctors that her next child would have to be delivered the same way b/c the intense pressure on the stomach when she pushed would be too rough on the area where she was cut last and could possible tear the area open and she could bleed to death and possibly harm the babyWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should try it but only at the hospital!. You need to be there just in case you need an emergency c cection!.
I wouldn't trust it to a midwife alone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
