Dear CD,
I know you must love your grandmother very much to be this upset!. Can I ask a few questions!? I work with older people everyday and it very hard to diagnosis over the internet but I hope I can calm your fears somewhat!. First, how do you know she's passing thiis blood from vigina!? Is she being talen care of at home or is she in a long term care facility!? Secondly how much blood and is it bright red or a dark red!? Is there an odor to it!? A bladder infection will usually produce thick, highly foul smelling scant urine!.
Has she had a hysterectomy!? Or a history of uterine or ovarian cancer!?Now if this just blood that has ben seen in her urine or panties this could possibily be a condition called cystitis!. Has she haad lower abdomnial pain or low back pain!? Lower back can mean kidney stones but not always but severe pain generally means kidney stones!. Now if it's blood from kidney stone the blood will be a dark coffee ground looking blood!. A bladder infection or cystis will make the blood bright red!.
However if this blood is viginal it could mean some capilaries in her vigina have broken!. The viginal wall as we get older becomes very, very thin!. Broken cappilaries will produce bright red blood!. Should God forbid this blood be a result of a form of cancer it will be dark, thick and very foul smelling!. This usually will not cause pain!. now not to totally disagree with the man about kidney failure, I could not possibly say that is what's going on!. with kidney failure you will see lower extremity edema and only slight urination!. Take you grandmothers temp and Blood pressure if you can so you can report this to her doctor!. And by all means if it is a large, very large amount take her to the ER but I betting she will be o!.k!. with a granddaughter that cares as much for her as you do!.My prayers!. Let us know how she does!. And push the fluids on her, o!.k!?

she may have a tumor or something like that!. when you are 86 your body is just really tired and worn out!. it isn't unussual for stuff like that to be happening most elderly woman do not report it though because they are embarrassed and don't want people to worry about them!. she needs to be checked by a dr!. my grandma is my best friend and i used to work in a nursing home so i know how hard it can be to see stuff like this happening to older ladies!.!.!.they are the best people ever!. just hang in there and pray for her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if she is soaking a pad every hr!. take her to the er!. if not, call a gyn dr!. tomorrow to get and appointment!. she may need a ultrasound to check the thickness of her uterus on the inside!. if it is to thick then they can do a endometrial biopsy to see why she is bleeding!. if she takes hormone pills, it could be that she has stopped taking them!. I used to be a nurse in the gyn dep!. and this is what we would tell our patients!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if i were you i would tell my parents right away and make an appointment to the doctors or might as well send her to the er!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to the ER or call 911 her kidney is most likely failing or there is internal bleeding don't waitWww@Answer-Health@Com
