Question: 12 year old with a question!.!.!.!?
i am 12 years old and i have not had my period yet!. i have bein reading questions on here becaus i have been having a clear gooy viginal discharge!. it always says "ovulation"!. what is that!? i would really like to know becaus i am afaid/embarrased to ask my parents!.!.!. First of all, you are still young!. Most girls don't start their periods until they are 14!. Do you have vaginal discharge!? If you do, it is a sign that your period is coming!. You begin vaginal discharge about a year before you start your periods!. Vaginal discharge is called ovulation, which basically means that your uterus (organ in your lower stomach area -- near reproductive organs) is creating eggs, this is healthy and normal and nothing to worry about!. Talking to your mom may be hard and nervwracking, but she knows exactly how you feel!. She went through this too, she is a girl!. If you're mom is not available to talk to, call an aunt or grandmother or another trusted adult!. You are eventually going to need to tell someone because they will need to supply pads and tampons for you!. Your first time is nothing to worry about!. there is very little blood, not even enough to go through your underwear!. It may be brown or dark red, that is perfectly OK!. That just happens when the blood comes in contact with the air!. I wish you the best, don't worry, everything will go fine!.

(I am assuming that you know what ovaries are) In your ovaries, your body has been storing eggs there for years and years!. When you have your period one egg from an ovary travels down the fallopian tube as the lining of the vagina gets thicker as it gets ready for the egg!. (http://images!.medicinenet!.com/images/ill!.!.!. The egg travels to the cervix, then the vagina, then the lining and egg is shed and that is what your period is!. You shouldn't be embarrassed, especially with your mom!. She has been through allthis!. Maybe an aunt or a best friends mom if you really don't want to talk to yours!. 12 is a bit early but some girls start then!. Ovulation is when the ovary releases an egg!. If the egg is not fertilized then your period starts!. Your discharge is probably your body preparing to begin your periods!.
Seriously, go talk to a trusted adult female!. We have all been through it and knowing what to expect makes it all soooo much easier!. Believe me, your friends don't know enough to be your source!.

This just means you are almost ready to get your period!. When you start to get discharge, that will tell you that it is almost time!. Once you start to see that , start wearin panty liners(ask your mom to buy some or ask to borow (if she has them) some of hers)
Don't feel embaresed, or wierd if you do get your period at the ag of 12!.
That I belive is the average starting age!.

Im 14 and that happened to me when i was 12 too!.!.!.
If you have black pubic hair!.!.!.!. breast soreness!.!.!. Armpit hair!.!.!. Oily skin!.!.!.and lastley discharge!.!.!.wich is that gooey stuff!.!.!.that probably means you will start here within now to about 6 months!.!.!.!.
