Answers:
youre not too young!. just make sure (im sure the doctor asked all the right questions already) that you dont have a history of blood clots or diabetes in the family!. don't smoke, it's very important that you dont because there is a higher risk of blood clots when you smoke on the pill!. the other risks are stroke and heart attack, but those are very rare!.

other than that youre good! ive been on the estrogen free birth control for 6months, doesnt regulate my period, but i love it!. i know some brands of birth control also clear up any acne you may have!.

i've also heard a lot of rumors about weight gain on the pill, so if that happens just try to exercise a bit more!.

if you have any problems talk to your doctor!Www@Answer-Health@Com

17 isn't too young, or else your doctor wouldn't have prescribed it!. Your doctor also should have gone over what to expect when you're on the Pill - there also should have been a piece of paper that came along with your first pack of pills that discussed risks, benefits, how to start the Pill, and any side effects you may experience!.

Advantages: The Pill will regulate your period!. It's around 99% effective in preventing pregnancy!. Your risk of ovarian cancer will decrease!. Most women experience relief from PMS as well as shorter, lighter periods!. You also have more control over when your period starts!. If your skin breaks out right before your period, the pill can help with this too!.

Disadvantages: The Pill may increase your risk of developing breast cancer and blood clots!. Some women experience breast pain, breast tenderness, or an increase in breast size!. Weight gain is another possible side effect!. You may feel nauseous after you take the pill, so try taking the pill after you've eaten a full meal!. Also, you need to take it at the SAME TIME EVERY DAY or else it will not be effective!.

You didn't mention what specific pill you're on - try looking up the manufacturer's website for more information!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've heard of people alot younger getting BC pills, so no worries you're good!. Some of the advantages of birth conrol is not only that they regulate your period, but they help to clear up your skin as well and cuts down your risk of pregnancy once you start having sex, AND helps with menstrual cramps!.!.!.it's hard to say the disadvantages vs the advantages!. Everyone reacts to the pills differently!. When I went on it, i found i didn't get the headaches or cramps anymore, i always know now when they're going to start too!.

Where as with my friend, she was an emotional wreck! She'd cry for no reason, she felt like she was going to throw up, she got wicked migrains!.!.!.

So really it's just how your body reacts to them! Hope for all the best though!.
Good luck hun!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was put on birth control pills at 17 also for the same reason, and I loved it! It helped reduce cramping, acne, and moodiness! The only disadvantage I noticed was that I had to pee alot more often!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
