Health Care Professionals and/or women: opinion/info please?!

Question: Health Care Professionals and/or women: opinion/info please!?
My 14 month old daughter had surgery this morning to drain a fairly serious MRSA staph infection around her buttocks and vagina!. We will now be on a pretty intesive regimin of hibiclens and bactroban for the next couple of weeks!. She is also on Cleocin!.

My question is!.!.!.!.!.could the Cleocin kill off the healthy productive bacteria in her vagina and possibly result in a yeast infection!?

I know I should have asked her Dr this question, and I still can!. I just didn't think about it until now!. Would acedophelous be a good idea to prevent a yeast infection!?

These kind of female issues are not my expertise!.!.!.!.Thank you for your input!.!.!.

Answers:
yes, the antibiotics could cause a yeast infection, not only vaginal but also oral thrush as well!. I am not sure if acidophilus is a healthy supplement for an infant, but I would think it is certainly ok to give your baby yogurt with that culture in it, if she will eat it!. I hope she gets well!. Thats a pretty serious thing for a baby! Keep an eye out for white sore tongue or red itchy bottom/vaginal area!. Call the doc if you notice any such things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just keep an eye out for infection because it can and almost certainly will happen!. Good news!.!.!.!.some yougurt with active cultures works wonders to keep things at bay!. And a little over the counter product should work just fine in case it does occur!.!. But DO NOT use those products unless you clear it with her doctor!.
Good luck to you!.!.xx~~~Www@Answer-Health@Com
