Miscarried at 9 weeks! D&C?!?!
Question: Miscarried at 9 weeks! D&C!?!!?
I just found out I had a missed miscarriage today at 9 weeks 6 days!. The baby was fine on Sunday, but must have passed away yesterday!. I am going in for a D&C this Thursday!. I am going to wait a few months before trying to conceive again!. Here are my questions!.
1!. does it really hurt after waking up from surgery!? How bad is the pain!?
2!. how soon till you can have sex again!?
3!. how long does it take to recover!?
4!. what is the safest time to wait to start trying again!?

1!. No D&Cs don't hurt too much, but they are uncomfortable (my friend had one after her ectopic)!. You may experience some cramping like with your period afterward, so taking regular pain medication which may or may not be prescribed to you will be fine!.
2&3!. I'd wait at least 10-14 days!. Even though D&Cs are not too painful, give that area a rest and time to heal!.
4!. Wait at least 6 weeks or 1-2 regular periods!. Pregnancy has a way of making you irregular and just be sure that you're regular again!.
Most of all just make sure that you're in a good emotional state, because miscarriages can be devastating and when you put too much emotional stress on yourself, it can harm the baby and you end up having another one!. So take care of yourself first, so that you can take care of that baby that's growing inside of you!. Start taking iron and folic acid as soon as possible that helps to prevent miscarriages and put the foundation down for a very healthy baby!. B-12 doesn't hurt either!.!.!.it actually strengthens you!.
I don't know if you have a Vitamin Shoppe or GNC anywhere around you, but look for the supplements that have a woman's reproductive health in mind!.!.!.there are many, but the vitamins I mentioned above are the ones I prefer and what helped me, I believe, to conceive and carry and a very healthy baby boy!.

- Yes it hurts; it feels like cramps!. Not too bad!.!.

- It depends; they usually tell you to wait a week or two so your body can cleanse itself!. But in some women that can take longer than 2 weeks if not properly cared for!. Your doctor will tell you what time is right for you!.
