How long should you be on birth control pills before having sex?!

Question: How long should you be on birth control pills before having sex!?
I'm thinking of starting them soon, but how long should I be expected to wait before assuming they'll kick in and become another form of protection!? Is it instantly or do I have to wait for a certain period of time!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If you've never taken them before, I think the general rule is anywhere from a week to a month depending on the type of pills!. Check with your doctor and read the packaging, but use a secondary form of protection for at least a month just to be safe!.

Unless you aren't in a committed, monogamous relationship!. In that case, you should ALWAYS use condoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its usually between a month-two months!. mostly until your body is completely used to the new cycle of the birth control which one cycle is a month so yeah 1-2 months

edit- but also i'd still use condoms just because you can still get pregnant from just using birth control!. it happened to my best friend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

After 3 months you should be okay!. But the pill is only 99!.8% effective!. I know many women who have gotten pregnant on the pill and even after their husband had a vasectomy!. So just be careful, and they do not protect against STD"SWww@Answer-Health@Com

Birth control pills should work within 24 hours of taking the first pill!. Ask the doctor that you will be going to for the prescription, he can give you the best answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wait a month or longer if you don't like condoms, trust me I did the three weeks thing and got pregnant!. Use a sponge or V sheets if you can't wait!. Trust me its not a good thing to rush!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most birth control takes 1 week to successfully prevent pregnancy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
