I've been going through the same thing recently!. A friend of mine that is into natural remedies recommended the following:
exercise- even though its the last thing you want to do, it helps get the serotonin rolling again and makes you happy
Herbs:
St John's Wort- helps calm and sooth
Valerian- also helps with mood swings
My gyno told me to start taking the following vitamins & they have really helped- daily rec
Calcium with Vitamin D- 500 mg twice a day
B Complex

hope those help and also try to fight the negative vibes yourself!. I know as a girl it's so easy to feel sad and than let yourself really dive deep into that sadness!. Push through it and remember tomorrow is another day!.

The best way is to readjust the attitude you have towards the monthly period!. Hormones may explain some of what you feel, but you are not an animal driven by them alone!. Humans have conscious control over how they act, and to a large extent how they choose to feel!. You are as negative feeling as you wish to be, and will feel positive when you chose to feel that way to!. If you continue to focus on the whole PMS thing, you allow your hormones to remain in control!. Your monthly cycle is a celebration of all the wonderful things about being a woman, and you should embrace that part!. Activity is always a good way to divert yourself from the desire to sit on a pity pot, takes your mind off the trouble and gives you something else to focus on!. Redirect your energies away from yourself and you will likely feel a lot better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"baths with lavender scents" and that kinda crap i've heard helps!.!.!. never found that myself though!.
Painkillers/alcohol (not together) usually helps my moods, but that's cause they're usualy down to really severe cramps lol!.
Chocolate!. It is actually proven to help, it releases endorphins which create a better sense of well being and reduce senstivity to pain!. It's also aparently quite high in magnesium, which the body craves at the beginning of your cycle!.

However, most effective way i found is crawling up ina ball in bed and not coming out for the week! hahaWww@Answer-Health@Com
