Ortho Tri-Cyclen?!

Question: Ortho Tri-Cyclen!?
I just started Ortho Tri-Cyclen birth control yesterday after I visited my doctor!. My last period was from May 28th through June 3rd and I want to change it to around the 9th through the 15th of every month!. He suggested I started with the blue pills and take the full two weeks of those, then to toss that pack and start fresh with another one so that I'm on five weeks of active pills and I would have my period when I wanted!. He warned I might have an extra one somewhere in the middle, though!. My question is, will this change my period like I want and when will the birth control take effect as far as preventing pregnancy by itself since I will be starting with blue pills and won't take any white ones until the third week!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I think your doctor suggested a good way to alter your period timing!. I have done it a couple times in the past (for vacations)!. You are protected from pregnancies 7 days after you start the pill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think you are supposed to use condoms as well for the first month of birth control being your body is just getting use to the hormonal fluctuation!. That should get your period where you want it however if it isn't just take the white pills until the week you want your period then take the green pills you don't have to throw away the pack!. I do this all the time if i want to avoid a period during finals, or vacation or whatnot!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
