Sonohystogram: Painful?!
Question: Sonohystogram: Painful!?
I am having a Sonohystogram tomorrow, and I am wondering if anyone else has had one!. If so, what was your experience like!? I've been reading different things online about women having terrible cramping during, and how it can be very paifnul!. The doctors have advised that I take some painkillers beforehand, but they insist it's "not that bad"!. Of course a doctor won't tell me how painful it really is since they obviously want me to do it!.
So honestly ladies!.!.!.is it painful!? I'm sure I can get through it, but I'd really just like to know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had to have one done about a month ago!. It definitely won't be your most favorite trip to the doctor's!. In my experience, it was quite painful, however, I have been dealing with severe pelvic pain for the past year, so that could have contributed to it!. When they inject the saline solution into your uterus is the worst part!. At that point I was trying not to burst into tears!. Luckily, it only lasts a couple of minutes!. Afterwards, I had some bad cramping for about half an hour!.
My experience was pretty bad, but I have heard other people say that it barely hurt at all!. I guess everyone's is different!. It would probably help if you had someone come along to squeeze their hand during the procedure, I wish I would have had someone with me!. I hope yours turns out alright and isn't too painful!. Is this the same thing as a hysterosalpingogram!? When they insert the dye into your uterus to see if you have tubal blockage or an abnormal shaped uterus!? If yes, I had one last month and it hurt like a mofo but for less than a minute!.
Take 2 motrin or advil an hour before and it will help w/ the cramping!. Also, FYI, you bleed alot after so bring pads if you are not going straight home after!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
