Answers:
Sounds like you are definitely having some issues that you want to get checked out!.

I'm going to type a LOT of information here but because you have exhibited that you are mature enough to know something is not right, I am also going to consider you are mature enough to look over the information intelligently!.

You asked: "Im also 13 does my age affect any of that!?"

Possibly because your body is going through a LOT of changes around that age!. Most young women experience some weird feelings around then!. Yours sound like you are very concerned so I'm going to be straight up with you!. Okay!? Because you are 13 you can't do a lot by yourself legally!. (Actually, you are just on the limit for even being able to post on Yahoo Answers but so glad you did!.) As a woman, I'm going to ask you not to try to handle too much on your own!.

About that not caring if you die or not and the if you don't part!.!.!. Can you talk with your parents--one or both of them!? If not do you have a trusted aunt, cousin, grandmother!?

Listen, it's not unusual nowadays for young people in your age group to have emotional issues!. Life is very hard for everyone in this day and age!. Don't feel strange about picking up the telephone and calling a hotline!. That is what they are there for--to help and talk to you about problems!.

Hair loss! Did the hair loss have anything to do with how you are feeling emotionally or did the emotional stuff come first!?

Any type of hair loss is called "alopecia!." There can be a lot of different causes!. But it's a MAJOR issue that can bring the strongest woman to her lowest point!. Because I've had some medical problems I've experience that several times!. It hurt like all get out to lose my hair!. Didn't want to go anywhere, didn't want anyone to see me!. It just hurt!. Hot straighteners!? Chemicals perms!. (I'm a sistah!) I finally got sick of the whole thing and went back to my "nappy roots!." That was five years ago and I have found a freedom that I had not experienced since the 70's!.

IF you were very stressed at the time you got the perms, YES, that can cause it to drop off near the scalp or cause weakness so that when new growth starts back it breaks right at the end of the straight hair!. (My daughter and son-in-law are beauticians so I'm not just guessing!.)

Suggestion about the hair thingy: It's summertime!. If you have a LOT of hair loss or damage!. Bite the bullet and get it cut down to the new growth!. Sport a really short baby afro (or curly do if yours is curly/wavy) for the summer!. If you have a lot of straight hair left!. Get a good shampoo and conditioner and a NON-ALCOHOL hair gel and just keep it scrunched for summer!.

However, you wear it, I'm sure you can figure out something cute because as I said at first, you sound like you know how to start to work on a problem situation!.

Let your hair get healthy again!. If you like it, keep wearing it when school starts!. If not, have your hair done professionally!. It's worth the money and the time sitting in the shop to not have a really bad experience again!.

Eat as healthy a diet as possible and slack off sodas and snacks!. Keep your mealtimes regular!. Drink lots of water and eat fresh fruits whenever possible!. You cannot imagine how much a person's diet can cause upsets emotionally!. Also get proper rest!. Yeah, it's summer and you want to stay up late but while you're feeling blue get enough sleep at night because!.!.!.

You are a young woman and you have probably recently started having your menstrual cycle or maybe about to start!. THAT CAN CAUSE SOME MAJOR, I MEAN, EMOTIONAL STUFF!. I don't know what your situation is but it could be in part due to hormonal changes!. If you just started within the last three years, that would not be unusual!. It takes a woman's body about three years to develop a set pattern for periods and hormone levels to balance out!.

YOU MAY BE EXPERIENCING SEVERE PMS OR PMDD!. That is why I asked if there was some adult you can talk to about how you are feeling!. Sometimes you think a woman has gone totally off her rocker and meaner than a junkyard dog and it's "just period time!."

If it's PMS or PMDD, sweetheart, that are millions of women around the world who feel EXACTLY like you do at least a few days of the month!. Is it normal!? Yes and no!. It's just part of being a woman!. GOOD NEWS: If it's one of those two things there is good help available!.

After you read this, think about all you have been feeling and if it's regularly around the time you have your periods, it's probably PMS!. Other symptoms would be bloating, cramping, breast tenderness!. Look over the information at the site below!.

PMDD can make you feel like you are going "crazy!." Some things you might feel:

"Do you have unpleasant, disturbing emotional and physical symptoms before your monthly menstrual periods!? Do these symptoms disrupt your life and interfere with your usual activities and your relationships with others!? Do the symptoms go away when your flow begins or shortly thereafter, only to return before your next period!?

If this description sounds like you, you may have a condition known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD!. To find out more about PMDD -- what it is, what it is not, how common it is, how it is diagnosed, what may cause it, and how it can be treated successfully -- please read on!. We know a lot about PMDD and you should find the information here quite helpful to you or someone you know!."

Okay, I've written a small book but I hope you will take all I've written and have your mom or an older female relative look through some of this stuff with you!. I don't know you but I also want a promise: IF YOU START FEELING LIKE YOU DON'T CARE PERIOD, PLEASE CALL A CRISIS NUMBER

Remember, even that people DO care about you and want you to have a great life! You know how to ask for help when you need it just like you did today!. You are growing up!

Hugs and blessings!.!.!.

Probably a little bit of both, considering that you are 13!. I would suggest talking to people!.
Whether it be your parents, friends, teachers!. Because they will help you figure out what is the next step!. I was diagnosed with depression as a teen, but medicine turned out to be a bad choice and if it hadn't been for friends and family I don't think I would have made it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stressed or depressed, either way, talking to a doctor about what you're going through will allow him/her to help you feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are definitely depressed!. Please see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't care if you die!? Sounds like depression!.

Do you feel like getting up in the morning!? Did you loose interest in something that you used to love!? What are some things that you used to enjoy doing that doesn't mean much to you now!? Did you just change one of two things in your life (example: You used to enjoy watching thriller films and used to eat love icre ceam, but now you enjoy playing poker and watching golf on tv!.) That is not depression!.

Depression is where you lose your zest for life!. Do you not care about gettings things done!? Are you in school and failing most of your classes!? Do you have a job and come in late and don't care if you are fired!. Do you WISH you were fired!?

Hair falling out could be a sign of stress at any age!. It could also mean a vitamin deficency!. Do you perm your hair a lot or color it often (3 times a year or more)!? Coloring and perming often can damage your hair and make it fall out or become very brittle!.

Anger!? Well, that comes from your thoughts!. We become angry when 1!. an act happens 2!. we believe that act is wrong!. Does not matter is the act is done TO us or TO someone else!. We form the thought "That is not right" 3!. We then get angry!.

Example: I apply for a job with 10 other people!. All 10 other people get an interview!. I do not get one!. I form the opinion that it was wrong for me to NOT get an interview!. I also form the opinion that it was wrong for all of the others to get an interview since they all have high school degrees and I have a higher degree than high school!.

When we believe we should be treated (or someone we love) should be treated some way (call it X) and we are treated with Y, we get angry!.

No one can make you angry!. People choose to get angry!. It's about power!. If I allow you to make me angry, I am giving you the right to make me angry!. I am giving my power away!. I am in control of my own emotions!. I allow myself to feel angry!. If I say, "You make me so mad!" that is a false statement!. The fact is that I am allowing someone to have power over me and I am allowing them to make me angry!.

Do not give your power away!. Now, there is the issue of use women!. I'm not being sexist now!. We all know that women go through cycles and it is real!. Women cry for no reason during their cycle!. I do it too!. When our chemical makeup changes, we change-temporarily!. That change should not be longer than a week!. If you see that you are always angry or always sad and lost the zest of life, you need to go see a therapist!.

I go see one when I have money!. I use one on a sliding scale for low-income!. I used to go once every 3 weeks, but since I am on a budget and concentrating on purchasing my text books in advance, I'm putting off going to my therapist!. It is all a trade off!. Sure I want to get to my therapist more often, but I'm not going to cry about it!.

Just focus on the things you CAN change and the rest-don't think about! I can't change the fact that I am not 5 foot 5!. I'm 5 foot 1 and I will always be 5 foot 1 (unless I put heals on)!. I can't change my past and go back and undo my dislocated right hip from 1989!. I can't go back to 1995 and tell my (now past) boyfriend "Don't do drugs, it will kill you!." But I CAN look for other men my age!. I can dress up and make myself look decent!. I CAN change how much I weight!. I can change my hair color if I wanted to!.

It's okay to cry!. What is not okay is to cry everyday for months and months and months!. I cried when my step-father died!. I cryed A LOT!. Does that mean that if I did not cry, I did not love him!? No!. Poeple grieve in different ways!. So, if you are crying and staying in bed and not eating at all, then yes, you are depressed!.

You can only change certain things about yourself!. You will never be able to change other people!. Learn to love you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
