How much blood is lost during a menstrual period?!

Question: How much blood is lost during a menstrual period!?
My family planning teacher said half a teaspoonfull but my girlfriends and I say thats nonsense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Up to 80mL (about 16 teaspoons) is considered normal, but it's really very variable!. Average is 30-40mL!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually, I just read that it's 2-3 tsps but I'd say that that's not necessarily true for everyone!. I bleed pretty heavily and I can go through a super plus tampon about every other hour for the first couple of days!. YEah, but that 1/2 a tsp sounds ridiculously low!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think that she said that because it's blood mixed with tissue and other stuff!. but if your flow is heavy enough it's definitely more than a half teaspoon!. i can't donate blood when i'm on my period because i get anemic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not very much!. The only reason it *looks* like a lot of blood is because the discharged tissue becomes dyed by the broken capillaries!.

Don't worry about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is nonsense, even being on the pill and taking anti-inflammatory's, which make you bleed less, you lose more then half a teaspoon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Period time and quantity of blood lost differs from a woman to another!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well its a bit more than that about half a small cup full!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

2-3 tablespoonWww@Answer-Health@Com

You loose an eggcup or less!. depending on youre flowWww@Answer-Health@Com
