HPV is a virus that causes wart type growths on the cervix that can become cancerous!. 80% of adult women in the world are thought to have the virus that is sexuality transmitted!.

HPV is a huge contributor to cervical cancer and they believe that 80% or more of cervical cancers are caused by HPV !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will help you understand some if you think of the HPV part as the family name- like a bacteria last name!. All families have several members, each with a different first name- and HPV is the same way!. Each different strain of the HPV is a different family member, and likes to live in a different spot on the body!. Some of them happen to like fingers, so that's where you get the warts!. Some like the crotch, and we call them genital warts because that's where they grow!. The Gardidil shot will protect you against three of the varieties that like to live on the cervix!. Those can set you up to develop cervical cancer, so it's only really a problem for girls!. The trouble is that HPV is very common, and most people have it, and don't even know it!. You wouldn't know you had it on the cervix until there were changes on a pap smear, many years from now!. Then it's too late to do much, except try to remove the warts!. Your shot will protect you from them, those three kinds anyway- so it won't be a worry you will have!. It's a good idea, and my two daughters have had theirs done as well!. This is how I explained it to them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HPV is an STD!. It causes genital warts, and some forms of HPV can cause cervical cancer!. Gardasil is a vaccine for some of the strains (types) of HPV that most commonly cause cancer!. The vaccine itself won't hurt you!. It won't necessarily prevent you from getting HPV (only certain types of the virus), but it will decrease your risk of getting cervical cancer later in life!. It's important to make sure that you continue to use safe sex practices - just because you took Gardasil doesn't mean that you're immune from all the STDs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I won't have the exact science but hopefully it will help!. HPV is a virus, it is not anything like HPV!. There are a few strains of HPV and when you have a pap smear they are testing for strange cells, i!.e!. the virus!. It can live harmlessly in women or it can cause cervical cancer!. YOur Gardasil is thought to help with a couple of the strains of the virus so is in place to help young girls from getting cervical cancer in the long term!. You can get the virus form sexual contact and it doesn't really mean you are diseased it just means it could become cervical cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
