What does a "low normal" bone density test mean?!

Question: What does a "low normal" bone density test mean!?
Last week I had a bone density test; yesterday the office called, said my test was in the "low normal" range, and they would see me in two years!. What does "low normal" mean and what should I be doing for myself within those two years!?

I should add that I'm 51 and have had a hysterectomy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It means it's at the lower end of the normal range!. So it's still okay but if it has got any lower in the next two years, they may recommend treatment such as HRT (if you are not already on it)!.

In the meantime you may want to try taking Vitamin D and Calcium Supplements!. Also strength training 2-3 times a week very good for strengthening bones!.

Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Low normal means it's within the normal range, but that if it got lower it could be a concern!. So ask them what to do to keep healthy and make small changes to your diet, exercise routine, lifestyle to make sure you are being healthy!. But don't worry too much, cuz it WAS normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it just means you are still in the normal range, but are going towards being low!. To increase bone density, make sure you get enough calcium and do some proper resistance training!. Resistance training has been shown to add bone density to women!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
