Question: First time surgey! anesthesia question~!?
hi! i will be going for surgery tomorrow!.!.!.to get rid of this cyst under my scalp!.!.!.!.!.so i have some questions i hope you can answer ^^
1!. how does it feel like when getting an injection of anesthesia!? does it feel like getting a flu shot!? or like hepititis shot!? does it hurt!?
2!. can local anesthesia be used!? my cyst is 4 cm long i think!.
3!. will anesthesia affect memory!? i will write a test on this thursday :S

Anaesthesia is the best feeling in the world, the anaesthetist puts a cannulae in your hand and the drugs are shot through that!.!. It doesnt hurt and when your drifting off its absolutely lovely!. I dont have any after effects but some people experience nausea, vomitting and fatigue!. Thats why I would cancel the test!. I did feel a but fuzzy for about a week afterwards and Im sure that wont help your memory!. As for if local anaesthesia can be used - you will have to discuss that with the surgeon!.
