Can you wear a tampon overnight?!

Question: Can you wear a tampon overnight!?
I hate, hate, HATE wearing pads overnight and my mom told me that lots of people wear tampons overnight, but they say you should never wear a tampon overnight because you could easily get TSS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
you can indeed!. just put in a fresh one just before you lay down and change it as soon as you wake up!. just be sure you have the right absorbency level!. i!.e!.- light(skiny) for a small flow or super(thicker) for a heavy flow!.

TSS comes from leaving them in when they have fully expanded and your menstrual has nowhere else to flow!. you put yourself at a higher risk as it kind of stay in you longer!.

hope that helpedWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'd suggest that you set an alarm every few hours to change it out!. You shouldn't wear it overnight (I do, and I know it's bad) but that is only b/c you may oversleep, and 9 hours later, you wake up with a nasty, old tampon inside of you!. And that is really bad for you healthwise! I heard this story from a doctor I worked with who told me about a woman who came in b/c of a foul smell coming from her vagina, and some black, lumpy discharge also!. The doctor took a look, and found that the lady had forgotten to remove her tampon for 2 days, and it had turned black and came out in chunks!. So just to say, set an alarm if you do!. Just so you don't end up forgetting it, or leaving it in too long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Generally tampons are for short-term use (3-4 hours)!. If you use a tampon overnight there is a risk of getting an infection!. Pads are better as they let you also air out!. If you think about it, with a tampon, you're plugging yourself up and letting old blood sit inside you for that long - festering!. It's better just to bite the bullet and be risk-free!. Unless you're willing to use the tampon and wake up every few hours to change it ^^!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can, but it all depends on your flow!. If it's pretty heavy, I'd recommend a pad instead!. If your flow is heavy enough during the day to warrant a tampon change every four hours, you run the risk of leaking overnight!. The chance for disease or infection is pretty low, as tampons are safe to wear from four to about eight hours!. Like another poster said, put it in RIGHT before you go to bed, and take it out AS SOON AS you wake up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's advised not to wear them longer than 8 hours, so you don't get TSS (which is bad, but rare)!. You could wear one about 7 hours, then get up and change to a new one!. Just put it in right before you go to bed and set your alarm, in 7-8 hours you should be good!. I never have a heavy flow at night, but I HATE pads so I wear a thin pantyliner at night!. Plus I get my full 9 hours of sleep, undisturbed!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can!. just make sure that you change it in the morinig, and if you are a real heavy bleeder, wear SUPER!. If you are a REALLY HEAVY BLEEDER wear a pad too, just in case!. It will save on washing the sheets!!! I use super plus size for my heaviest time and then go down from there!. Tampax has a Variety pack with all sizes!. If you do make a mess-soak in cold water and vinegar for an hour before washing!. in COLD WATER!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think anyone should ever wear a tampon over night!.!. for the reason it says on the box!.!. I think it's called toxic shock syndrome!. I wear tampons all the time but I use pads overnight!.!. better safe then sorryWww@Answer-Health@Com

just set an alarm to make sure you don't keep the tampon in for more than 8 hours!. (6 would be more ideal)!. it's a potential hassle, but it's safer and if you've used the tampon up completely, it's cleaner to change it during the night rather than finding a leaking mess in the morning!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should never leave a tampon in for over 6 hours, because you could get TSS!.
I usually change mine every 3 hours!.
The best pads to wear overnight at the actual over night pads made by libra!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, just remember to take out in the morning - some people are groggy and forget and that could lead to Toxic Shock!.
Tampons are perfectly safe, just remember to take out after you wake up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

totally just make sure u cahnge it right before you go to sleep and make sure you dont sleep through half the day, or else it might get to full
if you have a really heavy flow you might leak through it
but theres normally not alot of blood in the night becuase you are not moving around!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its safer not to wear it overnight!. I personally do all the time, but I can understand why you hate them!. I find that my stomach cramps up much more when wearing them (even during the day)!. Do what you find to be more comfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think its ok if u wear a really heavy absorbancy one and still take it out before the time it says, i think is it 8 hours!? if u use a new one before you go to bed then make sure u take it out when u get up then u should be all right!. i dont like to thoughWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, just use only the size you need for your flow (super, regular, lite) and make sure you change it as soon as you get up!. Tampons can be worn for up to 8 hours safely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can wear tampons overnight, that's what i do!. I hate the feeling of pads but make sure its in all the way, and that you change it before and after you go to bed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you can, but make sure you change right when you get up, put one in right when your about to fall asleep, and if you wake up in the middle of the night to pee or something or to get a drink change it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, if you sleep for 8 hours or less, it should be OK!. Tampons should not be left in for more than 8 hours per tampon as prolonged use is what causes TSS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course you can wear a tampon overnight!. But you have to change it every 4-8 hours!. I suggest a pad!. It's less of a hassle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

people do it all the time, but personally that is gross and it could give you that one disease, I where pads anyways!. easier to deal withWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you could, but it's not recommended!. You should change it every 4 hours to prevent bacteria from manifesting into a dangerous situation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you put a new in before bed and change it when you get up in the morning you will be ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can, but only as long as its the right absorbency and to put a new one in before bed, then take it out in the morning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have done loads of times even though docs dont advise it but i iant ever had trouble!. cause i have very heavy periods its pointless wearin pads at night cause it goes everywear lol!. so yes u can use em at nightWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's fine as long as you're not sleeping more than 8 hours at a time!. The point is not keeping it inside for that long, not so much b/c you're sleeping with one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
