Im the same way!. I've had my period for about 2 years now and I really hate telling my mom when im on my period!. The only time she really knows when im on my period is when I ask her to take me to the store for something like pads or tampons!. And I hate when she asks me questions about my periods and I ignore her lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my relationship with my mom is cool!. if she asks me that, there would be no problem with me!. don't feel uncomfortable with that!. there's nothing wrong with telling your mom you got your period every month!. just tell her, i have my period now!. no effort at all!.
even now that my mom doesn't ask me to tell her that, she almost always knows when i have my period because i declare to the whole house, i have cramps or my head is aching because i have my period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My relationship with my mom isn't very tight!. But she ALWAYS has to know everything!. So I tell her when I'm on my period!.

Luckly, when I first started my sister (who I tell EVERYTHING to) was visiting and she was the only one home with me!.

It's normal to be uncomfortable with your mom!. A lot of girls are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my mom knew about mine almost every month!. there was three bathrooms in the house i grew up in!. and generally everyone but my dad would use the one that was known as the family room bath!. because it wasn't really with a bed room!. since the pads and tampons were in that bathroom too!. all she would have to do is look and ask are u on your period!? i would say yeah!. or sometimes i would ask her to buy me more!. i'm pretty close to my mom!. every mom should at least know when her daughter gets her first periods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first time i had it she was upset i didnt tell her!. But she noticed the next times cause i get really bad pms and she sees things in the garbage can and stuff!. The really awkward thing is when they start the tampon demonstration!. Thats a biggie!. I stuck my fingers in my ears and yelled lalalalalala i cant hear you!. it worked pretty well!. As for being comfortable, no!. no one want to tell their mom!. its weird!. and awkward!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not a very open person to begin with!. I don't tell my mom when I have my period!. I tell her if I'm out of pads or tampons if she's going to the store!. I don't think she needs to know when I'm on it!. I'm seventeen, by the way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i feel the same way because me and my mom aren't very closse and dont get alongWww@Answer-Health@Com

Why do you need to tell your mom when you are exactly on your period!? Its not like you have to tell her every month your on your period!. Yeah of course you kindof have to tell her once you first got your period otherwise its up to you if you want to tell her!.

If your nervous about asking to buy pads!. Just tell her "Mom, I could I have some money!." and just go buy them your self!. Otherwise just say "Well, mom I am out of pads/tampons could you please just drive me to the store and not make such a big deal about it!."

I don't know something like that!. But if she ever makes a big deal about it just be like "Mom, could we please stop talking about this I feel so uncomfortable!." She should understand!.

Anyways!.
Sorry if I didn't help you much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well for my Mother and I, she knows everything!. We may not be the greatest of friends but when it all boils down she knows it all!. Whenever I go to the Doctor, I allow her to come in the room with me so she is well aware of my health, and in advice/suggestions the doctor has for me if any problems/issues!. I want my Mother to be well aware of my life for the fact of I don't want to pass out one day and the Doctor's ask her questions and she looks like one of those dumbfounded parents!. I keep a log of what I eat, and comments because of a health issue in which my Mother has full access to!. There is a log of what the Doctor's and I discussed on certain visits, although she was there!.

So when it came to my period she knew!. And of course now that I'm older is it is completely normal and she does not keep up with my menstrual cycle since it recently changed but she is aware of it due to my health issue, here recently!.

However, in the end it is your choice on who you want to know about your health and if you even want them to know!. I do strongly suggest that if your Mother is close to you and there for you, that you let her in on what you feel comfortable with her having knowledge of or wait until you're ready!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
