Plan B if on regular birth control but took antibiotics?!

Question: Plan B if on regular birth control but took antibiotics!?
I started taking ortho-tricycline lo two weeks ago, but was on antibiotics for the first four days I took the birth control pills!. I know antibiotics can negate the effects of birth control pills!. I had sex this morning!. I am wondering if I should take a Plan B pill just in case!. Will it have any adverse effects since I am already taking regular birth control and haven't missed a dose!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Chances are you're okay, since you finished your antibiotics a week and half ago!. In the future, if you're on antibiotics you should be using a backup BC method, particularly a condom, for the duration of the course of antibiotics and at least a week following the last dose!. Antibiotics can stay in your system for a while even after you've finished taking them!. You may also experience spotting or even what seems like an early period, even if you're not on the placebo week of your pill pack, depending on the strength of the antibiotic!. If you're worried Plan B might be a good idea!. Call your gyno ASAP to ask about it so you can get a good answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

only some atibitics affect the pill! ask the dr if the ones you took will afect it and then if he says yes ask him what you should do about it!.
always ask the dr when he gives you antibiotics if they are ones that will affect the pill, and you can double check with the pharmacist
then if they are the ones that affect it while you are on them always use condoms as a backup or a sponge or spermacide or somthing!
this is what i do i always check first berfore taking atibibitoics!Www@Answer-Health@Com
