There are several factors involved!.

You may not be diabetic, but are you HYPOglycemic!? (The opposite of diabetic, blood sugars constantly low)

What was your diet like!?

Did you go past your due date!?

How big was your baby's daddy!? (Especially when he was born, how about any of his siblings!?)

The next baby, in theory could be bigger!. BUT may not be!.

Many doctors and care providers once you have a "macro" sized baby (baby's over 9 pounds), keep a very close eye on your next pregnancy!. Did they miss something!? And IF they determine your baby is getting too big, decide to either do a c-section or an induction so you don't have as large a baby at birth!. (If this is the case, I cannot stress the importance of having a Doula or labor assistant to help you next time)

In my case, my first baby was 8'2!. My second was only 7'6!.

I birthed 9 children, their weights were:

8'2 born naturally, on due date!.
7'6 born naturally, no induction, but 3 weeks early
7'8 born naturally, 1 week before due date
7'11 born naturally, 3 weeks early
8'10, induced because of high blood pressure, 3 weeks early (no diabetes during pregnancy)
8'2!. born naturally, one week AFTER due date
8'15 born naturally, one week AFTER due date
9'15 3/4 (4 days AFTER birth) natural labor, 3 weeks BEFORE due date (no diabetes during pregnancy)
9'2 induced 4 weeks before due date (no diabetes during pregnancy)

I had two tests for diabetes in each pregnancy!. I had extra risk factors!.!.!. my mother was type one!. I was hypoglycemic, and both of my younger sisters developed gestational diabetes with all of their pregnancies!.

One year after my last baby, I developed type two diabetes!.

Because of the diabetes and the history of my larger than large babies!.!.!. (plus I have a slew of kids), I have decided NOT to have any more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

More than likely, yes!. On average the next baby is always slightly larger than the previous baby!. I was told by my doctor that because of my husband's size at birth, my baby could be a large baby!. It turned out that I developed gestational diabetes late in my pregnancy and that contributed to me having a 9 lb!. 6 oz!. baby boy! My next son weighed 10 lbs!., 3 oz!Www@Answer-Health@Com

thats the theory i hear now-a-daysWww@Answer-Health@Com
