Renew Birth Control, Paps?!

Question: Renew Birth Control, Paps!?
My sister just went to the doctor for her yearly pap to renew her birth control!. She's 26 years old and has only ever had one partner and they have been together for 5 years!. They're common law married, but can't afford a wedding yet, so they're waiting until they're done with graduate school!.

She wanted to only get a pap every 3 years and to get birth control prescription for 3 years at a time!. Her doctor refused and said they ONLY do that if you're either married or over 30!.

My sister and her fiance are both very much otherwise married and they have been since they were 20!. She does not do one night stands and would never have multiple partners!.

What I want to know is, first of all, is this policy normal at all hospitals in the US!? Why is this the case!? I find this to be clearly discriminatory, but I want to know if anyone else has any information on this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There is no "law" for when to have a pap or how long the prescription is written for!. It depends on the doctor's personal opinion!. Get a different doc if she doesn't like it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
