Well I heard of this thing called a "pap smear" I guess its this exam of!.!.!.down there!. Gross! I'm 14 and never had one!.!.!.Do I need to get one!? whats it like and whats it for!?
And what about breast exams!?
And also, I heard of something called a brazillion wax!.!.!.i know what thats for, but what EXACTLY do they do!? how bad is it!? How bad does it hurt!?

It's advised that once you become sexually active you should get your first pap smear!.
I know the idea of a doctor looking 'down there' can be scary but it's a very common procedure (every woman gets them regularly, once a year, (or should!))
You will lie down on the table and the doctor will insert what's called a Speculum into your vagina!. It opens up the walls of your vagina so the doctor can see your cervix!. He/she will then take a cotton swab (like a long q-tip) and gently swab your cervix to get a sample!. That will then be sent off to a lab to test for any STD's, infection or abnormal cells!.
It's not painful, just slightly uncomfortable and is very quick!. Maybe a couple of minutes start to finish!.
A breast exam will also be done at your ob/gyn visit but you can do these at home yourself as well!. Very simple and non-invasive!.
As for the Brazilian wax!.!.!. ouch!. No need for that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you only need to go to a gyno for a pap if you're having any issues down there or if you've started your period/sexually active!.
