I had one put in about three years ago when I was 20!. If you've had at least one child I've heard it's not that bad!. For me, however, it was quite painful!. I've never had children, and, according to the doctor, I was almost too small down there to put it in!. Also, I went to Planned Parenthood not a family doctor or gyn!. They have no bedside manner, and I left feeling like a lab rat!. All that being said, the IUD is the best birth control choice I ever made!. My husband and I love it! Just make sure you take a couple of Motrin (IB Profin) before getting it put in, and go to family doctor who has a decent bedside manner!. Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had mine put in 12 weeks after I had my last child and it was absolutely painless, I felt nothing!!! I have had it for 3 years now and love it! My sister in law had one also but had hers put in 4 years after her child and she had a bit more discomfort but said it was not bad at all!. My friend got this done after she had her little boy and I asked her about it the other day!.!.!.she said that she got a very small amount of cramping (not even as bad as her period) and a tiny bit of blood!. The Gyno said it was normal!.!.!.she (my friend) reccomends it to EVERYONE she knows!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have had the Mirena for 4 yrs now and just love it!. It was uncomfortable for a few minutes when they inserted it, but the pain goes away as soon as they finish!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
