Why do they always need to know about your period on physicals?!

Question: Why do they always need to know about your period on physicals!?
Answers:
If you don't have a period, that might be a problem (assuming you are of an age where you should have started yet and they should be fairly regular)!. They want to rule out the possibility of pregnancy!. Irregular periods when you shouldn't have them (i!.e!., not just starting puberty) could be sign of a problem - ovarian cycsts, endometriosis, any number of things!.

A good, healthy period that is pretty regular isn't the magic sign of health, but lack thereof can indicate a lot of things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They ask for several reasons!. One is to make sure that you are not pregnant before they do anything or give you anything that could hurt you or the baby!. The other reason is, there are many health problems that can be diagnosed due to missed periods, irregular bleeding, and stuff like that!. If you are not ovulating each month, and not getting your period, you could be at a greater risk for Ovarian cancer!. So they ask that just to make sure you are healthy and all your parts are working as they should :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I HATE how they always ask!.!.!.you'd think that since I'm seeing the same freakin' doctor every year and have said "yes, I have gotten my period" for the past 3 years, she'd remember something! But no!!!!!!! Every freakin' year, the same!.!.!."so, have you gotten your period yet!?" Believe me, if I hadn't, I WOULD HAVE ALREADY SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IT!. Anyway, done ranting!. I know exactly what you mean!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they ask about your period any time you go to a doctor, especially if you have to go to the ER for anything!. they need to make sure you arent possibly pregnant and also, irregular or missed periods could signify other problems in your body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mostly because they don't beleive a woman when she says there is no possibility of being pregnant!. also, if you have irregular periods it could be a sign of other health issues!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its part of your body cycle!. They need to know this to make sure your body is developing properly, also maybe to see if you havent skipped any periods due to abnormalities or pregnancy! Its Normal!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you mean your annual exam for women!? Because they need to know that information to make sure the test is checked accurately or something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
