Question: Any help would be appreciated!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
Sleep Deprivation or PND!?
I am a 30 yr old woman with a 3!.5 yr old and a 5 mth old!.
I am getting an average of 4!.5 hrs sleep per night, my daughter breastfeeds every 2 hrs day and night!.
In the last 6 weeks I have become very forgetful, anxious and paraniod!. I have been told that I have stopped mid sentance with a glazed look on my face and just stare into space!.
I feel shattered but have just got to keep going for obvious reasons!.
Anyway in the last 2 weeks I have started seeing things and hearing things!. I have hand shakes!. When I move my head or lie down in the dark I feel like I'm on water!.
I'm hungry all the time and am putting on weight, even though I am nursing!.
I feel confused, spaced out and physically detached from all around me (not emotionally detached)!.
My husband thinks it is all down to sleep dep!.!.!.!.!.can it be!?
I have never experienced anything like this before!.
Tomorrow I'm going to see my GP with my husband but I just wanted some opinions!.

It does sound like youre absolutely shattered, 4 and a half hours is no where near enough especially when youre nursing but you need to get help because if it isnt pnd it could lead to pnd, Im sure the doctor will be able to tell you straight away!. good luck xWww@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you need a nice long vacation!. Even if you can't afford it right now, I HIGHLY suggest taking some time off work and just focusing on your right now!. It sounds like you're on your way to a nervous breakdown, which sleep deprivation can DEFINITELY help along!. If you're becoming delusional and spacey it's definitely time to take a break!. You're a new mom; spend some time with your baby and go back to work in like two weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have an almost 3 year old and I breastfed for a year so I definitely remember being up every 2 hours to nurse!

Is there a way you could pump!? After baby nurses, pump, and have a freezer/fridge stash!? That way you can get some sleep and your husband or someone could help feed the baby while you rest!?

Rest is very important especially if you are nursing!. Lack of sleep could decrease your supply!

I wish you guys luck on your doctor's appointment! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
