Question: My mom taught me to do a breast exam when I was 9!. Was I molested!?
I matured kind of early, and i had breast buds at age 9!. One day I was sitting on the couch watching t!.v!. and my mom (who is a nurse) told me to take off my shirt and she taught me how to do a breast exam!. She massaged my chest and pinched my nipples and then made me do it while she watched to make sure I was doing it right!. She only did this once!. Would you consider this molestation, or is this normal!? I am an adult now, so there's nothing I can do about it!.!.!. I'm just curious because I've never known what to think about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like this could have been a perfect opportunity for your mother to show you how to care for yourself as a woman, especially starting to grow at such a young age!. Nine years old wouldn't seem to be old enough to understand the concept of cancer and feeling for unusual bumps!. Instead of being interested in what your mother was saying and taking it to heart, you were probably thinking "why is my mother touching my breasts!?" I would be uncomfortable also!. If I needed to show my daughter anything like this, I would do it over clothing and ask her if she was comfortable with me seeing her like that!. It sounds like you didn't have much choice in the matter, which to me is a violation of your personal space!. Molestation, I'm not sure, since this was such an isolated incident, your mother, being a nurse, may have had the best intentions!. The only way to know if it still bothers you is to ask! I would not consider it molestation!. Your mom is a nurse and that is what they are supposed to do!. Unless when she asked you to take off your shirt she did it in a way that made you feel unconfortable or somehow made some kind of sexual expression!. You would know better cause she is your mom!. how you thought about talking to her about it!? or mentioning to her how it made you feel!? No that is not molestation!. Your Mom was showing you how to care for your self and she did it only once, showing you how it should be done because maybe one day it could save your life!.
If she did the exam more then once on you then that wold be a different story, but she was just looking out for you and the reason why it was so thorough was because she was a nurse and trained in medical!.

No No No!. As a teenager you feel uncomfortable when it come down to personal issues!. Your mom was not trying to so anything to you!. She was simply looking out for you because you were possibly a early bloomer and she wanted you to have healthy breast!. My mom used to make me feel uncomfortable but it was all done out of love!.
