Progesterone??!
Question: Progesterone!?!?
I am 32 yrs old and I had a full hystorectomy at the age of 30 due to medical reasons!. I am taking a hormone pill that my Dr!. gave me and have tried 8 difforant ones!. The one I am taking now works ok!. My !?!? is what is progesteron for and should I be taking it along with my hormone pill!? I feel real angry, depressed, can't sleep, I feel like every one is out to get me, and I just dont want any sex or even my husband to touch me!. I know this is not normal and I have talked to my Dr!. about this and even talked to another Dr!. He put me on sleeping pills, and anti depressants but its just not the same, in fact they dont help!. I have also told the Dr!. this and he says give it time!. It has been 2 yrs!!! Some one told me I needed to take progesteron but I cant find info on it for people that have had a full hystorectomy!. please help me if you know any thing about this!! oh, I have also gained 70 lbs!. my thyroid is off and I am taking meds for that to and no weight loss!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok-first off--if you were to take progesterone with the other symptoms that you describe (anger, depression, paranoia, etc!.), the progesterone would make you feel worse!. When you think of the two female hormones-estrogen and progesterone, you need to think of them in terms of their symptoms!. Estrogen causes pregnancy symptoms, and progesterone causes PMS symptoms!. So, it sounds like you have talked to multiple doctors and been given different medications by each one!. I would suggest that you go to either your family practice doctor or your GYN care provider and let them know about all the different medications that you are on!. They can also draw blood work to check your thyroid levels again and see if you are on enough thyroid medication!. If you feel like your GYN care provider is not listening to you and your symptoms following your hysterectomy, then I think you should find another one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
