Question: Girls: why do tampons seem to be ''the thing''!?
Every girl I know wears tampons, and say that pads are just not cool, I don't really understand!. They're both something to absorb period blood, I don't see what's so cool about that! :p But really, what's the amazing deal with tampons and why do girls feel older and all when they wear them!?

Tampons make it easier to hide that you have your period!. Pads can show through your clothes sometimes!. I personally feel like I'm wearing a diaper when I wear a pad, and they can smell, and can be awkward to dispose of sometimes!. Tampons are smaller to conceal to bring to the washroom and you can flush the used ones!. The biggest downside to tampons, in my experience is if you are experiencing alot of cramping, tampons seem to make it a little worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
becasue now-day people are so clean clean clean and take showers multiple times a day when it used to be once a week!. people are just a lot more clean and tampons ARE definately alot more clean wya of catching your blood becasue it absorbs it BEFORE it gets your WHOLE butt/vagina/pee pee BLOODY!!.!.!.!.!.!.!. so it's def alot cleaner but im not saying i agree w/ your friends!. i mean, i only shower every other day and i use pads when i dont HAVE to use a tampon!. i'm just saying i am 99!.9% sure that, that is their reasoningWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have had to wear both before, due to a heavy cycle, but tampons are not necessarily cleaner, I've never heard of getting toxic shock from a pad, unlike tampons!. Maybe your friends think its cool, because its another step to women hood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Because tampons are still "new" on the market!. They have only been around about 30 yrs!. Most Moms and Grandmas wore pads and it is not cool to wear what the last generation wore!. Plus Tampons allow for you to go swimming which is a definite plus for active teens!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Tampons are great because if inserted properly you won't really feel them!. They are essential if you want to swim while on your period!. A pad can get stinky and sometimes feels like a diaper!. Young girls might feel older because not all girls' mom's allow them to use tampons until a certain age!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
