Bacterial Vaginosis... it won't go away!?!

Question: Bacterial Vaginosis!.!.!. it won't go away!!?
I am so frustrated and upset!. I really don't know what else to do!. I went to my gyno and she prescribed the antibiotic for me and my husband!. The BV went away for a while and now it's back again!. I feel like crying because it's so embarassing!. I'm a really clean person, I bathe twice a day, and people who sit next to me probably think I'm dirty!. Because I smell it and I know if I smell it, they must smell it!.

And it's even worse when I have sex with my husband, I feel so insecure and I hate it!. I don't know what else to do!. I feel if I go and take more medication it wil just come back again!. If someone can give me advice on this, please help me out!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I totally feel your pain!. A year and a half ago I had the exact same issue and for like 2 or 3 months it would just keep coming back!. At least your husband got medicated as well!. I figured some stuff out on my own and I've had no problems since!.
Here's some tips I recommend to help keep it clear:
1!. Do get an antibiotic - this is a must!. If you get BV several times in a row try to get different antibiotics so that the bacteria don't become immune to one medicine!.
2!. Check your body's PH levels!. Many times women who have very acidic ph levels in their body/blood tend to get BV and other infections like yeast!. Men do become acidic as well, but because of the way we're built our symptoms and infections let us know - whereas they're clueless!.
3!. Drink at least 8, 8 oz glasses of water a day for a week to balance the ph levels!. Eat more veggies like spinach or milk which are very alkaline!. You can find a list of alkaline veggies/foods online!. Chances are you're eating a lot of high-sodium foods like restaurant food or box/canned food and not a lot of veggies!.
4!. Make sure you're not constipated!. I was constipated a lot when I had my BV infections!. When you're always backed up (not going #2 at least once a day) you're body re-absorbs the waste (gross I know, but your intestines do only one thing and if it's just sitting there, well!.!.!.) and makes you more acidic!.
5!. When you're acidic this creates the perfect environment for bacteria in your body to get out of hand = infections downstairs!. You have natural bacteria in your gut that helps you digest your food!. When you become dehydrated, backed up and acidic they grow out of control!.
6!. You can prevent this by eating yogurt that has good bacteria in it (after you take your antibiotics first)!. I buy Stonyfield Farm Organic Yogurt (you can buy it at wal-mart) and DanActive!. You can take a cleanser www!.drnatura!.com!. Or you can just eat more veggies with fiber, hydrate with water, and excercise to get the gut moving!. Excercise really helps get things moving along even if it's just walking!.

After a week or so your body will balance out and become strong enough to keep the good bacteria in check!.

Just stay away from refined sugar/sweets which feed the bacteria and make it grow more while you're infected!.
Try not to have sex!. Not only is it embarrassing, but new bacteria could get in there and make things worse since your immune system is weak/fighting off an infection!.
Try to stay away from fast food - esp!. mickey d's!. The corn syrup/sugar in ketchup, sodas, sauces & all the salt will make things worse!.
You can purchase RepHresh at any drugstore and it will balance your ph downstairs!. This helped a lot!.
Don't Douche!
Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Think of your vagina as a fertile field!.!.!.!.and the antibiotics as a flamethrower!.

If you take a flamethrower to a field, and don't plant anything, weeds will quickly grow!.

The key is planting the right bacteria, and guarding against the wrong ones!.!.!.NOT in a one step solution of burning everything in the field!.

Ask a good GYN about what you can do to promote beneficial flora (bacteria)

Also, pay attention to your clothing, the detergent you use, and the water you wash in/bathe in!. Your plumbing may not be clean because!.!.!.well, your home's plumbing might be dirty!.
(swimming may also be a problem)

and as your GYN may have stated!.!.!.no undies+ skirt is best, cotton undies is good, and synthetic undies are trouble!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

BV is just an infection of the vagina!. It is not sexually transmitted, so women who have it should not feel "dirty" or ashamed!. Sometimes it does come back, and you may need further treatment!. Are you on birth control pills!? Use condoms!? Sometimes medications, or the lubrication on condoms can change the pH of your vagina just enough to allow the bacteria to grow!.

Go see your GYN care provider and get treated again, and be sure that they know that you are having difficulty getting rid of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have to take the prescribed medication by your doctor!. when the symptoms go away, continue taking the medicines until all the prescribed number of tablets/capsules are finished!. dont douche and when using a vaginal wash, use the ones that are not too strong!. soaps have a tendency to take away the normal flora (the normal bacteria in our body that helps protect our body) we also have normal flora in the vagina!. when you are on antibiotics, it will either (bacteriostatic) stop or (bactericidal) kill the bacteria!.

Also, go back to your gyne for follow ups!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With any treatment, you should always get multiple recommendations and see which is the best choice!. I don't really know what that is!.!. and quite frankly I don't want to find out!. But just get some advice from various medical professionals and see which is the best presciption that will permenantly free you from this!. I know that bacterial infections and such are curable, so that's good!. Good luck!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is the most common infection for women!. Two different antibiotics are recommended as treatment, metronidazole or clindamycin!.

It isn't uncommon to come back after treatment!. Just give your doctor a call and try another antibiotic!.

Another possibility is that your bacteria levels are off!. Many things can be the cause of this!. Douching creates havoc with your bodys' bacteria and can actually be a cause!.

I'm sure you'll be rid of it quickly after trying the other treatment!. But, make sure not to douche!. And, consider taking some acidophilus to get your bacterial count back to normal!.

I've linked a site with information!.

Btw, I've found that if I keep my ph level on the alkaline side I don't get these types of infections!. Most western diets keep us too acidic which creates opportunities for infection!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
