What's the difference between vaginal tears and abrasions after childbirth?!

Question: What's the difference between vaginal tears and abrasions after childbirth!?
Answers:
1) Abrasions are like bruises and grazes, they cover some area of skin!.

2) Tears are injuries like cuts (but without clean edges of course)!.

3) Abrasions might need 3 day to two weeks to heal; they can become imflammated if not cared for properly by the medical team!. There is a huge variation between very light abrasions like reddish, irritated skin up to bloody, partially open wounds with damaged skin!. Treatment might include desinfection, cooling and bandages if necessary!. Pain is comparable like other skin damages you know from bruises or "skinning your knee" in childhood!.

4) If treated wrong lasting problems might be scars!. However, usually there are no longer-lasting effects from abrasions!. Tears might lead to scar formation with all its subsequent problems!.

Abrasions, you could consider like "carpet burns" compared to tears, which are like cuts!.

Hope that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
