My girlfriend has very beautiful medium sized breasts and gorgeous nipples which are very large both the areola and the nipple itself!. Anyway I commented on her "Large Nipples" not in a negitive way just something about how sexy they were and she clammed up after much begging she told me that I was making fun of her!.

The same thing happened to me once!. My boyfriend was trying to be nice about it and compliment me, but it really hurt my feelings and I still am self-conscious about it!.
