Using Tampons?!?!

Question: Using Tampons!?!!?
I've only ever used towels so far, but i really want to start using tampons because i'm went to be going away!.
And i'm going to have to be very active, towels just get annoying and i'm always worried that they will leak!.
But i'm also quite worried about using tampons and getting used to them!.
So which tampons should i use!? Are they better to use than towels for being active!? Any advice/help would be great!.
Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, I am glad you are willing to try tampons, they are so convenient--especially if you are being active, swimming, or just want to stay clean!. I would start out with normal sized tampons with a plastic applicator!. Don't get fragranced ones, because the perfume might irritate you!. I highly recommend getting the tampons with applicators because they help get the tampon in the right position and angle!. When you insert it, take a deep breath and relax your muscles!. It's easier to get it in when you're squatting rather than sitting, because squatting is more, well, open!. You can only use a tampon for four hours, so don't sleep with them in!. Bring towels for nighttime!. The box always comes with instructions on how to insert the tampon!. Good luck, and remember to relax!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Once you've used tampons you will never go back to using towels!. They are much more comfortable and you dont have the worry about leaks!. The nicest ones to start with are probably tampax comaq, these have a very smooth plastic applicator and are very easy to use!. I would recommend using applicator tampons until you have got used to using them and used to where the tampon is supposed to sit in the body!. it can sometimes be a bit more difficult getting the tampon in the right place with a non-applicator if you haven't had experience of tampons before!.
Tampons should go quite far inside of you, whilst wearing them you shouldn't be able to feel them, if you can they are too low down!. When trying them for the first time just stay calm and if you dont manage to get the application right first time don't worry about it, just try again!. I remember shouting instructions through the bathroom door to my friend when she had no choice but to start using them, perhaps not the most comfortable situation to try them for the first time!

Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've used tampons for many years and I would not go back to towels!. They are great as you don't even know they are there and they allow for you to be active and go swimming!. As long as they are put in right you will not have leaks!. A brand with an applicator are best to use as they are easier to put in!. Start with a low absorbency and work your way up if you need to and make sure you read the instructions!. Is there an older sister/mother you can talk to!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

They're much better than sanitary pads! Tampons don't smell, aren't visible under clothes, and can be worn underwater!.

When choosing a tampon, look for one that expands all the way around!. Some only expand widthwise, and that means that they can leak more easily!. The ones that expand widthwise, like Tampax Pearl, will look like they've "unfolded" when saturated, while ones that open all the way around, like O!.B!. tampons, will simply look like they're getting bigger!.

O!.B!. tampons are my personal favorite because they don't take up a ton of room in my purse and they never leak!. They don't have an applicator, but they're not hard to insert at all!. :) I'd recommend getting a multi-pack that has regular, light, and super-absorbent tampons for the different days of your period!.

Few more things: Make sure you change your tampon every four hours, or more if you feel like it's getting "full!." I would also recommend changing it every time you use the restroom, just to be safe!. Also, you can wear one with a pantyliner if you want to be absolutely sure you won't leak, but keep in mind that you can't wear pantyliners underwater, and make sure you remove and replace the pantyliner after exercise to keep sweat and odors from absorbing into the liner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't really take much to get used to tampons, if you're using the right kind!. Personally, I use Tampax Sport, and they work really well!. Obviously they're good for being active, and I've experienced little to no leaking!. Like many other brands, they also have different tampons for different flows, so you might get one of the variety packs in case you don't know how heavily you flow or if it fluctuates!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why are you worried about getting used to them!?

I would start with regular tampons
you might also want to get ones with plastic applicators rather than cardboard!.
It's probably different for everybody, but cardboard is rough and it hurts me!.
Tampons are probably better if your active, especially if pads are uncomfortable for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they are better because you can swim etc with them, I would suggest using the smallest size you can get to begin with, and you might find an applicator tampon is easier than a non applicator one, although it is a matter of preference, still use towels at bedtime though, as tampons should never be left in for more than 8 hours (max)Www@Answer-Health@Com

haha towels, im assuming you're referring to pads!.!.!.in any case if you're going to use a tampon i suggest you us the plastic applicators and yes they are better for being active and that betch below me is off her fricking rocker! you dont keep a tampon in for 8 hours :| if you read the directions that come with the tampons it says about 4 or 5 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

okay well all of them are pretty good and tampons are beter for being active, but the first day u use them you might want to try wearing a pad also just to make sure that you used it right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
