I know exactly how you are feeling!. My periods are the same way now as they were when I was your age!. You should consult your Doctor about it!. My specialist told me the reason why my periods skip and some times just don't have them is because I stopped ovulating!. That could be a possibility for you also!. Although where you are growing up your body is changing which mean your hormones are changing also!. That could be the reason too!.!.!. I can't say that I agree with your mother on this one though, I feel you need to speak to your doctor about the situation, just to make sure it's nothing major!. Although I feel that your body is most likely just changing so don't get to upset about it!. I understand that it is a very scary and emotional thing, I went a complete year with out a period before!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Some teenagers may develop irregular periods or stop having periods altogether as a result of certain medications, excessive exercise, very low body weight, or not eating enough calories!. Others girls may develop problems as a result of a hormone imbalance!. For example, disorders of the thyroid gland can cause menstrual irregularities if the levels of thyroid hormone in the blood become too low or too high!.

I would definitely recommend talking to your doctor just to make sure it isn't something like a thyroid problem that can get serious if you don't get it diagnosed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think anything is wrong, simply because this same thing happened to me when I was about your age!. It could be related to quite a few different things!. Sudden weight gain, or loss, stress, etc!. I was put on birth control when I was 14 because my periods did this!. My birth control regulated them and did it's job!. I would bring it up to my doctor though!. This way you can get it resolved and stop worrying about it!. I know how stressful worrying can be!. When I was 14 I went 6 months without my period!. Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you should!.
Even if you didn't have sex, you might be pregnant!.
Just do a simple test, just in case!.
And if you're not positive, then to regulate your period, take The Pill!.
It helps balance it out!.

Your period might also be effected by serious stress, sudden weight lose/gain, but you should check with your doctor, they know best!.
