Hi Alexis,
I've had my period for 12 years now and I believe what you're experiencing is actually quite common!. I've found that the few days after my period stops, i!.e!. when the blood stops, I feel uncomfortable and a little dry!. This is usually what causes you to itch!.
Don't worry about it too much, but if it does get to the point where you're feeling sore or have irritated the skin by itching intensively then a possible trip to the Doctor would help!. There are plenty of creams and lubricants to help with this matter!.
If you don't feel like going that far, you can buy some lubricants over the counter at your local pharmacy!. It's worth checking it out if it is causing you so much irritation it leads to pain!.
I've found a couple of links that explain things a bit more!. Here you go:-
http://www!.mothernature!.com/Library/book!.!.!.
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Cervix
http://www!.fertilityuk!.org/nfps407!.html
All in all, my opinion is not to worry too much about it, if it feels uncomfortable, apply some lubrication or take a warm bath but try to avoid acidic soaps in that area! I know it's hard but try not to itch as this makes it more irritated and so you feel like itching more!.
Hope this helps Alexis!

hmmm it could be that the first week after your period, this is when your cervical muceus out put is at its least, so your vagina is very dry and this could be causing the irritation, otherwise possible causes could be yeast or thrush!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You probably have a vagina infection!. See your doctor and get treatment!. Don't worry though, sometimes women get infections that make them itch!. The doctor can give you some prescription cream!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
