Question: Is it normal to have fleshy discharge during your period!?
I have always had really painful abdominal cramps right before I bleed & for the first day or two that will subside with taking of pain medication!. (sometimes i have mild cramping in between periods - no blood though!)
But I have noticed a few times during my period, that a small amount of what I assume to be uterine lining!? comes out!. Its soft and fleshy and like a purplish color!.
I've never been pregnant (that I know of) and my boyfriend & I have been together for seven years!. Most of the time we have unprotected sex!. (I have never taken and do not currently take birth control) But as I said, I've never been pregnant and every once in a while my period starts a week late or (in this case) a week early!. I know everyone's cycle is different!.

What you are seeing is old endometrial lining, or at least what is left!. As the red blood cells get older, the cell walls break down and let the liquid leak out!. What's left is a sort of cell goo, rather livery in look and texture- and it will not turn red because the hemoglobin that would turn red in oxygen is long since gone!. It's usually associated with some cramping, sometimes it is severe- as that goo is a little harder to shed!. Late periods are infamous for this happening!. That would be blood clots, which in normal!. To help ease the pain and clot, you can use a heating pad, it warms your belly so that it passes them nicely!. ^^Www@Answer-Health@Com
I don't think this is normal!. Go see a gynecologist to be sure this is not do to serious health problems like vaginal infections, or more commonly fibroids!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
